Dr. James Moreno Roa, DO

Dr Roa is a very caring gastroenterologist and works only with what he has....the corrupt management of This VA offers, max health issues of multitudes of deserved veterans. Too bad management does support the healthcare services as much as the as their bonuses.

Dr. Roa is knowledgeable and energetic. He shoots straight from the hip and is down to earth. He's a real person and I found that we had a lot in common. I will ask for him to care for me every time.

I had a colonoscopy scheduled with Dr. Roa. He was the only gastroentorologist on staff that day who did not introduce himself to his patient (me) in the prep area prior to the procedure. He was also the only one who did not see his patient in the recovery area (same area as prep) post procedure. He had indicated that he was going to telephone in a prescription - it was never done. Rather than receiving a thorough report of the results of the procedure which is common practice in "civilian" medical care, I received a brief written summary mentioning that the polyps that were removed were benign. There was no mention of the number of polyps, there type or their location as is common practice. Of course these Bay Pines physicians couldn't care less if you are a return patient in that they continue to receive their pay checks. Pretty grim medical care in my opinion.

Dr. ROa is very professional and caring. The wait time was not long at all. He explains things very well. I am blessed to have such a great doctor.
