Dr. James John Romano, MD

I had breast augmentation, upper blepharoplasty, and liposuction under my jawline/chin with Dr Romano. I'm only somewhat satisfied with the results. My breasts looked quite good after the surgery but I developed capsular contraction in my left breast which has always troubled me. It doesn't look terrible but it feels hard and unnatural. My breasts were very painful after surgery which did not enable me to massage them as you're supposed to post-BA so this is likely why. As soon as I was able - and ever since - I've been very thorough with the massage but the CC has persisted, unfortunately. My breasts don't look too bad (they are a bit lopsided) but they've never felt really natural, which a lot of people report after a BA. My upper blepharoplasty improved the hooding I had in this area quite a bit, but it was only a few years later that one eye in particular became quite droopy again quite quickly. I've always been really unhappy with the results of the liposuction that Dr… Romano did around my jawline. One side in particular was really puffy and swollen looking (like a really ugly, strangely one-sided double chin) right after surgery that Dr Romano said was just swelling that would go away. It never did and I looked worse than before the surgery. It made me very self-conscious as it made me look fat and old (like a saggy turkey neck). I don't know whether structures in my neck were damaged during the procedure but it looked worse afterwards, like the supporting structures in my neck were no longer holding things in place. I am very unhappy with the result. The neck/jawline was also the most uncomfortable part of the recovery process. I would have been less likely to have left a negative review online if Dr Romano had provided better aftercare. Instead when I flew into SF to meet with him again, he didn't even make time to see me but instead scheduled my follow up appointment with his colleague. I thought this was really shoddy, as though since he now had my money he had no interest in ensuring I was satisfied with the procedures and was not going to take responsibility for making sure everything was ok. That was really disappointing and has definitely left a bad taste. I also did not feel satisfactorily taken care of with the emails I sent post-operatively; I felt my concerns were dismissed. Overall I'm not happy with my experience with Dr Romano (especially given how expensive he is), and cannot recommend him.

Dr. Romano is an amazing surgeon! I went to him to have tuberous breast correction after scouring the internet for several years. I chose him because, by far, he had the best before/after results for this condition. Dr. Romano and his staff are very nice and I felt completely comfortable with him. He answered all of my questions and thoroughly explained what he was going to do. I was extremely anxious about having surgery for the first time, but it was such a breeze, I couldn't believe it. One thing that really freaks me out is anticipating the anesthesia kicking in by counting backward from 10. Instead of that, Dr. Romano casually asked me small talk sorts of questions and then before I knew it, I was already waking up in recovery. I really appreciated that because he kept me from having anticipatory anxiety. My results are incredible. I have normal-looking breasts now and they look very natural, which is a hallmark of his work. I'm ecstatic with the outcome of my surgery and… strongly recommend Dr. Romano to anyone else seeking surgery to correct tuberous breasts.

Best doctor I have ever met, with superior aesthetic perspective. After years of deliberating weather to follow through with a surgical cosmetic procedure, learning of Dr. Romano; his skill and talent swayed my decision to "go for it"! Dr. Romanos initial consultation was thorough and instilled all the confidence in my decision. He is so honest he even talked me out of a certain element of the procedure. His friendly and calming demeanour made me feel very comfortable. After the surgery, not to toot my horn, but the results of the surgery are stunning giving me a bounce in my step and a sparkle in my eye. Typically, you wouldn't want people to know you had "work done", but I don't know if I can keep this talented Doctor a secret.Let's talk about the office.
