Dr. James Francis Rowley

I visited Abington ER because I was having severe and violent episodes of coughing fits lasting in upwards of 30+ minutes (at times), having difficulty breathing, in severe pain in the area of my right armpit/breast area, etc. In the 3 1/2 hours that I was in the back (not in triage) under Dr Rowley's care I MAY have seen him for a total of ONE MINUTE including an extremely quick listen to my lungs (lasting 5 - 7 seconds). No x-rays, no blood work - a breathing treatment and 1 Percocet. Come to find out - I had Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and 2 broken ribs (one of which was broken in 2 different locations). I was in tears most of the time I was in the ER and left in tears. I remember when Abington was a GREAT hospital but the last two times that I have needed to go - I was totally dissatisfied because of the lack of empathy, or feeling that I was being cared for. I am currently on week 7 of fighting this awful Pertussis, have had to work from home for weeks now, and MAYBE I would be a… lot better if something was done then - instead of being treated like I was an annoyance. This concerns me to know that there are doctor's that are practicing medicine knowing that diagnoses are being missed.
