Dr. James H Rubenstein, MD

James H. Rubenstein, MD, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He served an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, at the same time working as an assistant instructor in internal medicine for Harvard University's School of Medicine. Dr. Rubenstein completed his residency and was named Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. There he was an Assistant Instructor of Radiation Oncology before being promoted to Assistant Professor. The hospital selected him as Co-Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program and appointed him to the Medical School Applicant Interview Panel. Moving to Florida, Dr. Rubenstein joined the medical and consulting staffs of a number of Southwest Florida hospitals. At Columbia Regional Medical Center Southwest …Florida, Dr. Rubenstein served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He also became a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine's Department of Radiology. He is certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. He holds memberships in a variety of national and local professional societies, including the American Medical Association, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), the Lee County, Charlotte County and Collier County medical societies and the Florida Medical Association. He has written and coauthored many abstracts and articles dealing with the application of radiation therapy for the treatment of a broad range of cancers, and has been invited to present this data at national meetings.
