Dr. James Emory Sammons JR., DO

Dr. Sammons has been my doctor for almost 25 years I have many medical issues. His professionalism and bedside manor are only surpassed by his knowledge of medical issues and how to treat them. I would send and refer anyone to see him.

My mother went to this doctor worried that she was having mini strokes because she was having numbness in one arm. He assured her she wasn't. Over the next month and a half, she lost use of her hand and then started having problems with speech. He continued telling her she wasn't having a stroke. He sent her for a painful unneeded test. When he got worrisome test results from a different test, he didn't bother calling my parents. We went back to see him after my mother got out of the hospital. He had a room full of appointments just sitting there while the drug company reps went in and out. He denied any responsibility in not diagnosing my mother. He kept saying she didn't have a "normal" stroke. I'm not sure he even knew the actual name (ischemic). When I told him there was more than one kind of stroke, he said he knew that but his actions say he did not. He also told us that it would not have mattered if she had been diagnosed earlier because "she still would've had the… stroke". No one should put up with a "doctor" (I use the term loosely) like this.

Staff works hard to accomodate appointment needs. Doctor makes sure he gives his full attention and time at each visit. Explains things very well to patients. Very professional and caring.
