Dr. James Michael Santarelli, MD

If I could leave less than one star, I would. This has been nothing but a complete runaround since my insurance switched me over after my previous doctor, Dr. Fatima, was fired by Aurora. I was then assigned to Christina Vitkus, who I really liked. She later moved into a practice with Dr. Santarelli, and I was transitioned to Dr. James Santarelli. At my first appointment there, they scheduled me with the wrong provider, so I wasn’t even seen. On top of that, my prescriptions were sent out randomly without any clear communication after being without for weeks. I tried calling three separate times just to reschedule, and no one would help me. Central scheduling said because of the prior mistake they needed to talk to the nurse. When I finally reached someone, I was booked for the following Tuesday. Then today (Thursday), I received a call from Tim Manning, Director of Operations at Aurora Medical Group, I asked what the mix up was and he laughed and said Dr. Santarelli would not accept… me as a patient due to the prior scheduling mix-up. Meanwhile, I am currently out of my blood pressure medication, and instead of resolving the issue, I’m being told I need to start over again with a new physician—after just establishing care a couple of months ago. I'm trying to schedule and I'm being put out for months.

Tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. Trust him without question.

Wait time is Long, front desk and nurse Stephanie very unfriendly, No follow-up and difficulty in reaching him if you are having problems.

Really cares about his patients.

Outstanding Dr. I started going to him over 10 years ago when my original Dr. retired and recently moved my mother from another state and brought her to him. He has always been very courteous and thorough with his exams. I would recommend this Dr. to anyone looking for one

Just waited on hold for 18 min to check on a script I called in 2 days ago to get the answer its being reviewed!

Great staff, but Dr.Santarelli needs a better bedside manner for new patients. Very disappointed!

I am writing this review on the way my father has been treated, SIX MONTHS ago my father had a kidney infection, He also had a near fatal level of lithium in his system for 4months before we took him to froedtert hospital. This doctor would not even talk to my mother without my father present,, my father could not even walk to get to his office, What kind of doctor won't even talk to someone, I guess he couldn't charge for an office visit so why bother. This review most likely won't make it to his website.. I just hope a least one person will get a chance to see what kind of doctor he is . My father would have died if my mother didn't take him to froedtert. NO THANKS TO HIm
