Dr. James Thomas Shoukas, MD

Unfortunately, my experience with trying to schedule a simple appointment turned unsuccessful. I have never experienced an office staff member so unwilling to assist. She stated that our insurance would be out of network which was false information. I even had the Fl Blue rep call and explain our Fl Blue policy was secondary to medicare. Medicare pays 80% and Fl Blue pays 20% and does not have any in or out of network requirements. She provided the FL blue rep with the automated number she called to enter the physician's provider number and tax ID. The rep informed her that the number she called was incorrect and she may have entered the numbers incorrectly. The rep then provided her with a number to reach someone on a live line and she refused to call. I hope no one else experiences the same service. It's as if she has a mental block with understanding the insurance which I thought was interesting that the office receptionist that answers the phone is also handling billing to… insurance companies. The unfortunate part, I am trying to schedule an appointment as my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma on his cheek and needs to be seen ASAP and Dr. Shoukas works had and hand with a cancer specialist that was also recommended. This IS NOT an elective plastic surgery procedure! Thanks a lot Lori for being so difficult!

Dr. Shoukas and his staff are the best!! I got 3 opinions before choosing Dr. Shoukas and I definitely made the right choice. He takes the time to explain everything and never makes you feel rushed. He gladly answers all questions. My surgery was at the hospital and during pre-registration and the day of surgery everyone I encountered told me I have the best doctor. The staff at the hospital loves him because he makes their jobs easier. That says a lot. Dr. Shoukas' assistant Adrienne and receptionist Tailyn are both wonderful. They are always cheerful and available to answer questions or help with anything. I had been dreading my surgery, but with Dr. Shoukas it was a breeze. I never had any post op pain, recovery was much easier than expected, and the results have been perfect. Pick this doctor, you will not regret it!!!

I wanna start by saying i was very nervous with the idea of surgery and went to different consultations before going to his office and the minute i walked into his office i knew right there in there i was at the right place. Dr Shoukas its very very profesional and makes sure he answers all your questions and listens very well ,I will give his name and number to defenectly anyone looking for the best Surgeon in town, " HANDS DOWN " Beautiful office and always smells and looks super clean. Adrienne its nothing but super profesional and very knowledgeable when it comes to any questions you might have for any procedures and always makes you feel very comfortable. Front Desk always brings a smile the minute you walk in to their office. Overall im very Happy with my results and looking forward for next visit.

From the moment I walked in Dr. Shoukas' office for a consultation, I sensed his sincerity, professionalism, compassion, and patience for people. I knew I wanted him to be my surgeon. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease throughout the process. I can see why he was nominated as one of the top surgeons. He is a Great doctor!! I would recommend him to anyone!!!! His staff is also a compliment to him! They are a great group of people!

Upon walking into the office with three gashes in my sons chin from a fall on a tree stump, Dr. Shoukas got my son in immediately. He took the time to make sure the wound was properly cleaned and put in stitches immediately. My son is concerned about the scars on his face but the doctor immediately assured him that all would be fine. He is professional, considerate and has impeccable bedside manners with teenagers.

Dr. Shoukas is such a compassionate person! I went into his office at 16 and he explained that I was too young to have this major surgery (breast reduction). I was getting emotional as I was talking about the physical problems and confidence issues that large breasts caused me. He sat with me for over an hour just consoling and encouraging me until I promised him that I wouldn't cry when I left his office. He told me that if I was his own daughter, he would have me wait until I was at least 18 to do the BR; it would be safer and I would be done growing by then. He even offered to let me come in at 17 and he would take measurements again. (He was heartbroken that I was upset). Two years later, at 18 years old, I returned to Dr. Shoukas' office to follow through with the surgery. I just got the BR done two weeks ago. I could not be more happy with the results! His work is perfect. The office staff is friendly and the wait time is no more than five minutes...and Dr. Shoukas will blow you… away; he's so down to earth! He takes the time to explain everything to you and answer every question. He really has treated me like his own daughter from the first day I went into his office at 16, to post-op appointments at 18. Dr. Shoukas has a great sense of humor, a calming demeanor, and a very personable heart. He genuinely cares about you as a person. I could go on and on about what a wonderful doctor he is!

I had implants put in over 15 years ago, over the years I have developed bad capsular contracture, which made them rock hard & look abnormal. I came to see Dr. Shoukas and he spent time going over several options that I had to relieve the problem. I opted to have the old implants taken out and new silicone ones put back in . My whole experience has been great & my breasts look normal again. Thank you Dr. Shoukas !

3 out of 3 surgeries were botched and he wouldn't fix them. Now its cost me triple the expense to have every thing redone properly. Very frustrating. He tslks the talk but does not walk the walk. Botox, fillers and peel, go for it. But cosmetic surgery, I highly reccomend u keep looking.

Dr. Shoukas is great ! He is so knowledgeable about skin, treatment options, and what I go through with my cystic acne. I really think he's an excellent doctor and he definitely takes time to answer all your questions. I'm so excited that I finally have a doctor who I can trust and who I know I can get great results from. The VI peel was easy, painless and I can't wait to see my final results in a week or so. If you are looking for a great doctor, Dr. Shoukas is your guy!
