Dr. James Harry Shropshire, MD

I've been going to Dr. Shropshire for over two decades, and have nothing but fabulous things to say about him... He's friendly, professional, and down to earth. But, even more importantly he's a doctor with which you can actually confide in and be honest with regarding any questions or concerns you may have in every aspect of your care.

Will always go to Dr. Shropshire and won't hesitate to recommend others to him. As for previous poster, he/she has posted this same derogatory garbage on other sites about how he 'doesn't refer to specialists' -- it's simply not true, as Dr. Jim has always done so. If I have one complaint about the clinic, then it would be the lack of phone etiquette of some of their front desk staff. And it's not easy getting an appointment with Dr. Shropshire -- this has got to tell you something about how much people love him!

He doesn't refer to specialists and tries to do it all himself, even when he doesn't have the knowledge or expertise to do it safely. Friendly guy, but not a good doctor.

Office staff needs to be a bit more professional when setting appointments, etc. Love Dr. J, though . . .Great doctor that I strongly recommend.

Dr. Shropshire is a phenomenal and caring physician. He always has the best interests of his patients at heart, and practices in a way that is nonjudgemental. You'll feel more like a friend than a patient because of his calm and friendly manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Previous comments should be deleted, as they are clearly political in nature and certainly do not reflect what type of physician 'Dr. Jim' is. As a long-time patient, I would recommend Dr. Shropshire based on his caring attitude toward patients and desire to help with issues they face. Other problems at the clinic (such as the lab and their level of competence) have been resolved and credit goes to Jim and his staff for dealing with these matters. I have no qualms whatsoever about recommending this physician to people I know.

I couldn't get an appointment with him today. Then I saw him on the news tonight. He was passing out fraudulent sick notices for gov't Union members calling in sick so they wouldn't have to spend their own time picketing. For Madison teachers only, this defrauds taxpayers of $1.3 million. Statewide, probably half a billion.Regardless of his politics, this is completely unprofessional and unethical, illegal and immoral. (The union members were protesting the governors' proposal that, after 5 years of recession and the failure of the democrats and unions to negotiate cuts, the legislature force cuts in benefits - no cuts in salaries or layoffs, no union busting.)
