I was referred to Dr Spann with Aortic Stenosis. At that time, I was experiencing some very unpleasant symptoms and feeling a lot of anxiety. Dr Spann spent the time necessary with me to give me a lot of assurance that not only should my surgery go well but that the outcome was likely to be excellent. As well, he discussed the surgery in the detail I needed and talked about the options that were available. Surgery went better than I had ever expected and recovery was actually rather boring and routine: no surprises. I would recommend Dr Spann to anyone who is looking for one of the finest surgeons who will spend the time with a patient needed to prepare them for surgery.I'm now 8 months post op. My chest scar is fading fast and is just a simple line since he doesn't use sutures to close the skin. I'm exercising and living a normal life again and able to do more than I have in years. This whole experience has proven to be far less traumatic than I expected and that is due in… large part to Dr Spann.
