Dr. James Benjamin Stafford IV, MD

I went to him because of the pain in my right hand and right wrist about one year ago. Although I had a slight pain in my left hand once nine years ago, but it had no pain since then. I told this to Dr Stafford . He started to examine my right hand first and he did bend my hand from my wrist a lot, then he asked where I was from and asked my nationality, and when I answered his question, he started to pushing and bending my left hand wrist very harshly, the hand which had no problem and no pain! He pushed my left wrist a lot that it started to pain so much when I left his office and since then, I can't do anything by my left hand and I can't even get a napkin with it. I realized that pain in my right hand had increased as well! Since then I have an intense and constant pain in my left hand and I am not able to use it at all! I took an MRI image recently and its report shows severe injuries in my left wrist joint.

He sees patients with a short notice and seems knowledgeable enough. Clinic is pristine and most of the staff is very friendly. I just can't recommend a doctor that talks sarcastically about your condition, your pain or (his misconception of) your knowledge. Scolded me for not mentioning issues (which he forgot or dismissed) and just kept getting increasingly scornful throughout each appointment. Belittling a patient as person and their pain is not OK. Just wish I got a proper referral instead of seeing the first available specialist. It seems to me he makes it a point not to leave patients waiting long but at the expense of miscommunicating even with his own staff that arrives in the room without full instructions from him on how to proceed ultimately losing more time.

Dr. Stafford was quite condescending to me during each of my visits, and was reluctant to listen to my concerns with his diagnosis (or lack thereof). He actually acted exacerbated when I asked valid questions and restated my symptoms.His staff was very nice, but I will not go back to him.

I was scheduled to seeJames B. Stafford IV, MDtoday at 3 pm CST.I arrived right on the minute.Was ushered into one of the waiting rooms only 15 minutes later.Waited for 50 minutes there.Nobody showed up.When I asked a nurse that processed my file when I would see the Dr., she said she did nit know.I said that I cannot wait any longer, especially since there is no telling when Dr. Stafford would finally show up.She said that they "pretty much run on schedule"That really insulted my intelligence.Either you run on schedule or you are late.There is no such thing as running" pretty much" on schedule.And in what parallel universe or time zone they were running on schedule, when my appointment was for 3pm, and it was after 4pm, and still it was not clear when Dr. Stafford would be so kind as to finally show up. The nurse alluded to the fact that his time was more valuable than mine.Now, this is just plain disrespect.Overall office staff was rude and disrespectful.

Great doctor and very easy to get along with. Achieved very good results in repairing a complex fracture and non-union of my radius after another doctor had failed. Really wish I had met Dr Stafford when I injured myself instead of suffering further injury at the hands of a surgeon who apparently didn't know what he was doing.

Excellent medical expertise and bedside manner. Great with pediatric patients.
