Dr. James Stern

I was grateful when I first met him. He worked with me in helping me with my injury. Then I let him do my plastic surgery. That was a nightmare. I was very clear what I wanted. He did something very different and wrote in my medical record that I agreed to it. His medical assistant was in my recovery room getting me dressed before I was fully conscious and aware of my surroundings and an office worker came into my recovery room and demanded that I hurry up and get out for the next patient. That was traumatic and devastating. He wanted me out before I found out what he did. All the trust I had in him was shattered. I had surgery a year later to undo what he did to my body.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. After my surgery an office worker came into my recovery room and demanded that I get out for the next patient. The reason he wanted me out so quickly was so that I wouldn't know what he had done until I got home. He didn't call me later that day or see me the following day. He had another doctor see me. I am seeing another doctor to repair what he did.

Better than expected results and I was heard and treated with respect prior, during and post procedure... I could not ask for better care

Dr. Stern removed my review from Google. Dr. Stern put implants in my body that were much larger than I told him I wanted. I was very clear about my expectation. He wrote in my medical record that I wanted that size of implant. After surgery he sent an office worker into my recovery room and told me that I had to get out right now. There is nothing about this doctor that I would recommend.

I told Dr. Stern that I wanted 150 CC implants - the same size as a close friend. He said that they would look like bumps on my chest and tried to talk me into implants twice that size. I am a small person and didn't want anything larger. I went some place else, got what I wanted and feel amazing. I'm so glad I didn't let him talk me into something that I didn't want and wouldn't feel comfortable with in the end.

On my consent forms, I did not give permission for anyone to observe my surgery or for photos to be taken during my surgery. I clearly marked it out and wrote, "Do not give permission. When I got a copy of these forms, my forms were altered showing that I gave permission for everything. I had a discussion with the person I was with when I was signing them and she acknowledged that I marked this out and assured me that my wishes would be honored. I never imagined that I couldn't trust them.

As I was coming out from the anesthesia, Dr. Stern sent an office worker into my post-op room demanding that I had to hurry up and leave for the next patient. The office worker kept this up while the medical assistant was helping me get dressed. He did this so I wouldn't find out what he had done before I left the facility. I can't tell you how traumatic this was. I'm so grateful my daughter was there to see this happen.

I was very clear that I wanted small saline implants but Dr. Stern said that I should get implants over twice that size and in silicone because it will be more pleasing for my partner. I was not having the surgery for my partner but for myself. Anyone that I would be with would say, “It’s your body, do whatever you want.” What a misogynistic jerk!!! I went to a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Victoria Karlinsky. She listened to me, did exactly what I wanted and did beautiful job. I couldn’t be happier.

The day of my surgery I was treated like a body part on an assembly line. Everyone was great until the day of my surgery and then the follow up care felt like I was an inconvenience. I wish I had gone to the same doctor who did my friends surgery.

I don't see how he can have positive reviews. My experience and out come was so unpleasant, I found another doctor to undo what he did to me.
