Dr. James Johnston Stone, MD

I had an appointment today with Dr. Stone at the VA in WPB. After 45 minutes of waiting for an appointment that was scheduled for 2:15, I asked at the desk about my appointment and was told that he wasn't available and that they had to go find him. After waiting a few more minutes almost an hour by now, I left. Neither him nor his staff had the common decency to tell me he was running late. Watched multiple patients come and go. Now, I'm actually glad I didn't get to see him, since some of his reviews on this site and others aren't very good. Probably some bottom of the barrel surgeon who can't work anywhere else and thinks he can disrespect a veterans time. If you are a veteran and ever get this surgeon assigned to you, do yourself a favor a ask for another one. If they ask you why, tell them that this surgeon has bad reviews on multiple website and lacks professional etiquette and common courtesy.

I don't what these people are talking about, Dr. Stone was nothing but wonderful and fantastic. I arrived to the ER and they called a surgeon, it was my lucky day! I was very sick and he examined me, sent me for tests, when I returned he was there waiting for me to let me know we needed to go to surgery NOW. I had a big belly procedure. He took care of me, his bedside manner was out of this world, never experienced anything like this, he was kind, considerate and spoke to ME, not the wall but to me. He spoke in my language so I could understand. When I went to follow up with him he was nothing but approachable, kind and knew his stuff. Don't pay attention to the other reviews, I lived this experience, he knows what to do what is best and was wonderful to me. If I ever need emergency surgery I am going to request him, he saved my life!

Staying at the VA in WPB and this guy just busts into patient rooms while loudly speaking to colleagues. No knock, no lowering the volume or stopping the personal conversation. People are recovering in their rooms, at least have the decency to KNOCK and finish your personal business before entering.

Dr. James Stone saved my boyfriends life . He operated on a very rare type of cancer and gave my boyfriend his life back . During the entire process from surgery to follow up and even now Dr. Stone has kept in touch with my boyfriend. Dr. Stone has now even made a referral for my boyfriend since we have moved out of state .

Dr Stone performed an inguinal hernia operation on me on April 1, 2016. This was the last day I was able to walk normally. I have been using a walker and a wheelchair ever since. He ruined my life and made me a cripple. It took him over a year before he sent me to pain management, when he should have done this within 3 months after the surgery. By this time Pain Management could not do anything for me. Not only did Dr Stone butcher me, he did not provide any post-op care nor was he the slightest bit concerned that he maimed me for the rest of my life. Dr Stone is an awful surgeon and should not be allowed to practice medicine of any kind in ant state.
