Dr. James Joseph Szabo, MD

My ONLY comment is that one of the receptionists was unprofessional, ghetto, spoke about her personal issues and the patients could hear and referred to herself as "Being retarded". The other receptionist was more professional. I'll just ignore her whenever I'm scheduled to come in for an appointment.

I have seen Dr.Szabo as a patient on three=four occasions. He is quiet but while he is studying his patient. I like that I will commend expertise and skill over a conversation anytime.I asked about his training in med school. He proudly mentioned Columbia and the University of Chicago. Impressed me. The reason I saw him was a small spot close to my ear. My PCP Dr; Lowne said its got to come out. Her office got me an appt in about two months/ I saw Dr.Szabo in about two weeks.. I am glad, when Dr Szabo had it diagnosed it was basal-cell carcinoma. He set the removal date for about 7-8 days. I do not know what he saw or Dr Lowne saw but when I thought back I said a twenty=thirty minute procedure. Wrong the tiny place had grown to about three inches. Two hours including slicing and stitching.. I am glad it's gone.. Thanks, Dr Szabo and his wonderful staff. The place for me.Jim Burch

A Physician with great education, to the point, but don't expect a smile or any facial expression for that matter. He does give you the opportunity to share your problem, and will follow up with additional questions (abruptly). He diagnosed me within minutes, and his explanation for such, made sense. Due to the type of Insurance I have, there are limited days available for those Patients.

I am at a loss for words to describe without sounding like a loon myself, the experience of a doctor showing little interest in what he offhand suggested was maybe a 25% chance of melanoma, saying the treatment would be "to cut off the toe." Leaving abruptly without treating the inflamed, draining toe, and forgetting in moments to give me an estimate of cost of biopsy. Which his staff couldn't figure out.
