Dr. James Wallace Teener, MD

First visit with Dr. Teener only because my other dr. Left this location. I was not impressed, I felt I was another on his list of things to do for the day. A different dr. Came in first to do the questions and "exam". I also was not happy with this dr., but he went to get dr. Teener for "followup". At first introduction he reviewed everything the other dr. Dictated back to hi. For verification. It appeared to me he was ready to leave up. Conclusion. Of his review. I somewhat unloaded my feelings and frustrations and it wasn't til then that he sat back in his chair to listen and offered to have a number of other specialists come talk to me. I have muscular dystrophy And a little more than a year ago had open heart surgery... I'm not sure muscular dystrophy is his speacialty...and it didn't appear to me that he was eager to help me.I know he is not my previous dr. By a long shot but was hoping for a similar connection that just was not there. To me there is an arrogance about him and… his partner that I seen that day. I have to take time off work, travel an hour to get there. I go through a lot of effort and expect an amount of serious concern and eagerness to help me not to be passed off. My time is just as valuable as any dr.

He listened, he explained things clearly, he followed through. His explanations and recommendations during the last three years have been the most helpful I have experienced during 20 years of struggling with a chronic condition. He has the ideal combination of exceptional expertise, effective communication, and focus on getting the best outcomes for each individual.

I have been treated by Dr. Teener for over a year. He is 2 hours away but well worth the trip as there aren't any neurologist's in my area with expertise in my illness. The office staff is friendly and courteous and I have never had to wait longer than 20 minutes to see him. I would recommend Dr. Teener to anyone.
