Dr. James Gilmore Tifft, MD

Dr. Tifft was a godsend when I first met him and he diagnosed me with my chronic illness. Unfortunately his effectiveness has diminished considerably in the last few years, greatly impacting my health on more than one occasion. He almost seemed like he would ignore red flags in order to keep him from having to take on any additional responsibilities. Despite this, Dr. Tifft has always been good at following up over the phone, reassuring me when things became stressful, and communicating with other family members and doctors. It seems like he is eyeing retirement and not as committed as he once was.

6 minute appointments, rushed, runs appropriate tests but no feedback. Poor follow through especially providing copies of test results. Has good reputation but performance deteriorating in recent years and may be age related. Seems money oriented now and displays little interest in patients, may be overfunctioning in Group Practice resulting in poor performance

While he ran all the right test and labs, he provides very little information on follow up. Does not want to spend time answering questions, and gives you the 'bums rush' out of his office. $$$. Also, I had to wait 6 weeks to see him after an endoscopy and didn't even know what the result of the scope was until I read discharge papers. Then the long wait to see him. Looking for another gastro.

Mother has stage 4 kidney disease. The office was way to small to maneuver with a wheelchair, and they took her blood pressure in what appeared to be a small closet - automatic cuff - and talked to her through it. It was never rechecked despite uncontrolled BP being a main problem. Dr. was talking to us then ended and went to next patient. He referred her to get a cat scan with a script instructing her to take contrast agents that would have most likely been fatal for her kidney (nephrologist confirmed) and a potent stimulant laxative despite the fact she had non-stop diarrhea and were just barely keeping her electrolytes balanced. NEVER, EVER EVER GOING BACK.

Dr. Tifft and his staff are excellent. They are organized, through and experts at what they do.

This doctor is awesome. Great reputation and, because of his excellent demeanor and skill, the procedure was done with little anxiety and there was zero discomfort when the procedure was over. One of the good guys.

Truly amazed........ this doctor comes out to the waiting room to get the patient and..... to wait only 5 minutes tops!!! That is amazing.Also Dr Tifft took care of a medical problem I had when another stated a had a chronic disease and would have to be on meds the rest of my life. No more meds no more disease . Dr Tifft found the problem and fixed it ......HIs diagnosis was right on :)His office staff is also very helpful and professional.

He has taken wonderful care of our Family throughout the years..a superb Doctor
