Going back for my physical

MedPlus in Garden City, is run by Dr. Turek. He is the worst Doctor I have encountered in recent memory. His office manager SHARON who he uses to clean up his dishonestness and laziness is a complete Buffoon and has no business calling patients back about anything at all. She is his stooge and only succeeds in making him look even worse. I asked for an apology from TUREK for his unethical and most likely illegal mistreatment of Me but he instead had SHARON call Me back. I smartly recorded ALL!

I started seeing Dr. Turek soon after he opened his practice in Surfside Beach when I was visiting or owned a condo there. I believe his new address may be Murrells Inelt, SC He is an excellent doctor and his vast knowledge was a welcome relief for me. I am happy I found him and 22 yrs ago and I have recommended him to my friends and family, I was a realtor at the beach and needed a family doctor and Dr.Turek and his great staff treated me well. He also treated my husband and mother. I was pleased he could treat my little know illness (at that time) CFS/FM/ME. I have a specialist in Charlotte, NC and Dr. Turek worked well with him him and this little know problem 20 years ago. I also had upper respiratory problems which he treated me and his staff always got me in promptly and were very courteous. I do not understand the complaints about the staff since I have known them many years and never had a problem.

Some of the office staff @ MedPlus, Dr Turek's DBA, need retraining in being courteous and accurate - particularly the billing clerks. On a recent visit, a demand for immediate payment of all charges and the threat of withholding prescriptions if it wasn't, was made. Dr Turek being a preferred physician with our insurance plan is supposed to adhere to certain criteria including billing the insurance company prior to the balance due being paid. Patients do not know what the balance would be - they're only told what the doctor's office visit co-pay is, which in our case is $20. We wanted to pay the office visit co-pay of $20 on departure, but the clerk insisted it was $30 and that since we had not met our annual deductible, she insisted in charging us co-pays for the labs etc. that were done while at this visit. She insisted her amounts were correct ( even though we knew they weren't but she would no listen at all) because that's what her "computer" said. Needing the prescribed… medicine and realizing there was absolutely no reasoning with her, I reluctantly paid what she demanded, and I mean demanded - extreme rudeness. When I received the insurance company statement, she indeed had charged wrong amounts and as we had told her our co-pay was $20, not $30. During the dispute with the clerk, Dr Turek was summoned but he didn't appear to be concerned, he merely said - if it's too much we'll reimburse you. Me nor my family will ever visit this office again and we have related our experience to many friends and some of them that have been to his office and have encountered the same treatment. Although we think Dr. Turek is a capable doctor and several of his employees were pleasant, the rudeness of his billing staff makes it impossible for several of us to ever go there again.

I have been going to theis practice for many years, Dr. Turek's compassion is what brought me back time after time, but in the last few years the place has gone slack, and the Dr. seems to have become numb to hurting people. They don't take the time to really examine youor discuss things with you... they are very condecending when you have an opinion or ask too many questions, this saddens me after so many years of great service...pproblems getting scripts called in, and referrals sent...

It was an awesome experience

The woman that checked me out and took my money was the rudest person I have ever encountered in Business. RUDE RUDE RUDE I could not believe I stood there and took it. Dr. Turek is such a great Doc. What a shame to have this person on his staff!!

I didn't see the doctor as I requested, because they stuck me in a room with a PA (Physician's Assistant) who misdiagnosed me and I ended up in the hosptial over medicated on an extremely broad spectrum antibiotic for "sinusitits", which later in the local ER proved to be inflammed but with no sinus infection. I informed this PA that I was extremely sensitive to specific antibiotics and that I have had severe reactions, and she put me on the highest strongest dose of Augmentin and I became extremely ill. She not only misdiagnosed me, she put me on medications that she should not have prescribed. The meds landed me in the local ER the next day!! If you are sick in the Myrtle Beach area, may GOD help you, it's a mess trying to find qualified docs.

Five months with practice. Never met Dr Turek personally. Does most work thru surrogates. Hard time making decisions. Delays when asking for call-backs. Several problems with billing and insurance affiliation.

I had severe allegies for years and was uncontrolled with medications, Dr. Turek accurately diagnosed the trigger for my problem (my bird) and avoidance of feather dust mites has changed my life. This guy is outstanding
