he saved my life not once but twice both breast/and colon W/17 " absess he is caring/to the 10th degree

I was in the hospital (St. Joseph’s) to have a unknown condition diagnosed. A colonoscopy was done by Dr. Unit and after he visited me in my hospital room and without any sort of empathy he just said you have rectal cancer and we will most likely have to remove your sphincter . (Meaning I was going to have to have a permanent colostomy) Then he states after, “You didn’t clean yourself out very well”. Give me a break! You just told me I have cancer and you follow it up with that comment! Anyone that has had a colonoscopy knows how hard it is to force that gallon of horrible tasting drink. I finished it. What else was I supposed to do. Shove a bottle brush up my butt and scrub it out? Then my surgeon comes to see me a while after and states that things are not as bleak as Dr. Unti stated. To top it off during my colonoscopy, Dr. Unti took a sample of the mass to confirm the cancer diagnosis and he did it incorrectly. I then had to come back to the hospital to have another sample… taken to confirm this diagnosis so the insurance would approve my treatment. Due to his inability to not collect the sample correctly, my chemotherapy and radiation treatments were delayed by 3 weeks. Dr. Unti is a Doctor I would not trust to treat me again.

I could not have asked for a better doctor to resolve my hemorrhoid issue that has been bothering me for over 15 years. I was trying to avoid surgery at all costs and tried to treat it naturally but it got to a point where it was extremely painful and I could hardly walk. Dr. Unti was referred to us by my wife's OB and I am very thankful. Dr. Unti makes you feel comfortable with his unique humor in a most uncomfortable situation. He's not a doctor who rushes to do surgery and wants you to try other solutions if possible. He's very upfront and honest and spends as much time with you as needed and answers all your questions. He says it will be painful for 2-3 weeks and have a full recovery usually between 2-3 months. After surgery he checks in with you every day to see how you are doing. If you have any questions, he will call you back. I highly recommend Dr. Unti if you have any surgerical needs.

This is the most attentive dr I’ve ever seen. He genuinely cares about his patients and is competent in diagnosing and surgically fixing when necessary.

Tried to set up an appt for a colonoscopy. I was told I had to have a pre-appointment. They called me to remind me of the appointment 2 days earlier. "Please arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork" (new to this doctor as a referral). So I did. 50 minutes later (35 minutes after the appt start time) I was told it would be at least 15 more minutes. Staff seemed surprised that I felt this was disrespectful of my time. So I rescheduled. Seems to me that if you have the time to call me to tell me to be early, you also have the time to call me to tel me he'll be late. So easy of appointment was good, promptness poor of course, and staff was nice enough but obviously don't think it's these issues are a problem. Even a "sorry that this happened" would have been appreciated.

He is the best I have nothing but good things to say.

I am 100% back to my normal active life thanks to Dr. Unti. He diagnosed and corrected what had been a painful abdominal problem for me for years . I'm greatly impressed at his vast attention to accuracy , familiarity with the problem & follow through .

Excellent experience during an uncomfortable situation

Extremely kind doctor, took his time and thoroughly explained procedure and answered my questions. He is empathetic. Importantly, he made me feel comfortable, on a very uncomfortable situaion. I highly recommend him.

He is very empathetic, patient, gentle and understanding...I would definitely recommend him to anyone...I drove all the way from Indiana and will do it again. Very nice man.
