Anyone that knows Dr. Jim knows that his mission is to make it a GREAT DAY for every child that visits our office. He is known to entertain his patients by singing silly songs that put the kids at ease and keep everyone feeling relaxed. A graduate of the prestigious Marquette University, Dr. Urbaniak developed a passion for orthodontics while working at The Pueblo Neighborhood Health Center as a dentist. While he was Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at CU Health Sciences Center and Director of Orthodontics at The Children’s Hospital, he created a pediatric healthcare center with a group of pediatricians. His vision to make pediatric dental and orthodontic care available under one roof led him to establish Southwest Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics in 1989. Dr. Urbaniak and his wife, Terry, reside in Colorado with their two sons, Neal and Nick. Outside of the office, Dr. Urbaniak is an avid fisherman who enjoys ice fishing, fly fishing and a day on …the lake. He experiments with watercolors and is a frequent spectator at his boys’ sporting events.
