Dr. James C Van Doren, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr Van Doren for a year and a half and he is a very good doctor. He calls it like he sees it and it’s been highly beneficial for me to have and extra set of eyes on my life.

Always a great experience talking with Dr. Van Doren. Have been seeing him for almost two years and he is consistently asking the right questions. Would recommend to anyone.

I give him zero Stars. I've had the unfortunate event to have him as a doctor. I met him at Regions Hospital I've had him twice and both times he's left me in tears. He's very patronizing and condescending. I felt like he enjoyed hurting people like it made him feel better. It's not just me I've witnessed other people lose their emotional stability after meeting with him. He abuses his authority. The further back up my opinion semicolon I know a good friend of mine from high school that actually join the Peace Corps and carries around a Bible because he loves Jesus so much and he wants to do good in the world, shadowed him at Regions Hospital in his behavior towards clients affected him so much he questioned whether or not he wanted to be a doctor. The saddest part is that's the way he treats vulnerable people in a psychiatric ward that have no ability to stand up for themselves thus he abuses his authority. I think he is sadistic and cruel. I can't believe he's a doctor as he took a… Hippocratic oath and I have seen many patients leave his office in tears including myself. He wouldn't prescribe me of my doll in the hospital that my insurance would have covered instead he said why don't you take a Tylenol and drink a Coca-Cola. Obviously I didn't have the means to drink a Coca-Cola because they don't even offer that in a psychiatric hospital because it contains caffeine! He knew that! And my doll has more ingredients than a Tylenol and caffeine! He also knew that! What kind of a doctor wouldn't want to make me comfortable as feel comfortable in my inpatient psychiatric stay?! It wouldn't have been hard for him to prescribe it wouldn't have affected him my insurance would have covered it he's simply wouldn't do it because he enjoyed being a patronising a******! I do not recommend him! He may treat people differently out of his Eden Prairie location but he treats vulnerable emotionally unstable people in the psychiatric ward at Regions Hospital like Hitler treated Jewish people! I hope people take notice of my comment and pay attention to him and he loses his medical license! There is no way this guy is a Healer or exemplifying his obedience to a Hippocratic Oath! Stay away from him! Get the word out!

I have seen many psychologists and psychiatrist over the years. After meeting Dr. Van Doren, I finally feel understood.

He should see a psychiatrist not be a psychiatrist

Do not waste your time or money on this sad excuse for a doctor.

I really hated Dr. Van Doren after my first visit. I was so mad. The nerve of that doctor telling me that I had a drug problem! I almost didn't go back. But I am so glad that I did. He helped me break a 10-year cycle of addiction to opiates and alcohol. He provided the tough love I needed and the support and tools to truly change my life.

Dr Van Doren listens intently and asks questions to really drill down to the core issues. I have spent years trying to find help for my OCD. My symptoms are finally under control and I am working and loving life again.

Professional, educated, appropriately inquisitive and thorough ~ he was willing to work on a treatment plan that I could afford while explaining his recommendations for any underlying conditions so I can be made aware of my potential situation; I am very open-minded to accepting his future advice and working with him.
