Dr. James Craig Vandewall, MD

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about people not being able to get an appointment with him. I had the same problem initially. But instead of complaining and giving the man bad reviews, I took it for what it is. The man must be an incredible doctor if it’s that difficult to get an appointment with him!!! I just kept trying!!! Every few months I would call the office and see if they could get me in. Remember the old adage that you get more bees with honey? It is so true! I was always pleasant to his staff when I called and asked if they had any appointments. Because I was so nice to them, they called me once they had an appointment! It took me about 1 1/2 years to get in, but it was definitely worth the wait! He is an amazing doctor! He is one of the few doctors that actually believe me when I tell him I am in pain! He has helped me tremendously with getting diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and then with treating the disease. I find him to be very personable. His nurse Marylin is also very… though and so pleasant. Since becoming a patient I’ve had NO problems getting an appointment. He and his staff are worth waiting for!!!

I would love to leave a review for Dr. Vandewall but his office staff refuses to let us have an appointment after a referral from a fellow physician. The call was made to Dr. Vandewall before Christmas and Dr. said he would be getting in touch with my husband. It was holiday time so we expected to wait. I made a follow up call to the office yesterday and spoke to a receptionist who said she had no information about a call. I expected her to pass the phone message onto Dr. Vandewall. It is now January 5th and we still have not gotten any call back. Office staff is unreliable.

I called this doctor because it says that he treats fibromyalgia. But when they called my PCP to say that he wouldn't treat me, it was because he doesn't treat fibromyalgia. So take it off your list of things that you treat, that shouldn't be too hard should it?

I had to call the office in Olean,Ny. for blood test results and the person who took the call and responded to me was very rude and not polite.
