Dr. James D Ward

I have seen this office for a few months now and with each visit, I feel as though something is off. The receptionist Norma is incredibly rude and her cadence is enough to make you not want to return. When you call to ask questions about your bill, etc., she spills your business in way that implies she intentionally wants you to know that she is annoyed with your call. The ultrasound tech was wonderful at first. He is very knowledgeable, don't get me wrong, but now he seems to ignore what you say and makes you feel unwanted there. Dr. Winn seems to be kind. I will say that she has the LIGHTEST hands when it comes to Pap smears, but she too seems like she doesn't care much for her patient. She isn't as informative and caring as you'd expect a doctor to be and the whole situation throws me off, along with my husband. I really tried to give them a chance but I am supposed to feel comfortable and welcomed during my time there and I am not getting that from them. When I first came to them,… I had HG and tried all the medications available to me with no luck. Because I tested positive for cannabis, they all treated me differently and I can see now that this is a trend with them. I am not an addict or a heavy user with pot. I literally did a very small amount to get through this pregnancy because it was absolutely miserable and I had two other small children to tend to that needed mom there and not stuck on the bathroom floor or in bed. Its is a shame that the doctor never once brought any of this up to me, but felt the need to continue testing me behind my back and assuming I would just pay for it, and for the receptionist to air my business out and treat me like some lowlife. I will be switching doctors and it is a shame.

Personally I wouldn’t pick Dr Ward and here’s why I feel this way. The beginning of my pregnancy I had lots of bleeding and at first yes Dr Ward sent me for testing and and ultrasound but what was irritating is that a week goes by and no phone call to let me know about the test results or the ultrasound which the ultrasound tech said no heartbeat.. so i called to find out what the test results were. That was the first problem and the next issue my husband and I went for our 8 week appointment and was told the chances of you having a miscarriage are so low which we were like great news to hear and then my 12 week appointment which was right before the shut down. I had ask to hear the heartbeat and then was told because of the virus we need to skip the 16 week appointment and I have high risk pregnancy but whatever he is the dr I trusted him. Well around 19 weeks I just feel like something just wasn’t right so I called the office and went in that afternoon and unfortunately the worst had… happened my baby had passed away around 13 or 14 weeks dr Ward says. So skipping an appointment clearly was a bad judgment call on his part I had a dead baby inside for 4 to 5 weeks and that shouldn’t happen to anyone. So please be very careful wit this Dr. make sure to ask lots of questions and don’t let him dismiss you questions. I had to request testing be done on me I was told well normally we don’t do that kind of testing unless you have had more than one miscarriage... well sorry but that’s just wrong.

Dr.Ward is a great Dr.very caring.funny.dont pass up this Dr.he is great, best in Pendleton Oregon

He is such a good doctor! I was really worried about having a male doctor, but he is completely wonderful! He cares so much about his patients and always listens and explains every concern. I never have to wait in his office for my appointments.
