I was seen by Dr Weiss for seven years in California and found him to be very compassionate, always easy to talk to and a kind man. Non intimidating, intelligent and always listened as a Dr and a friend. By the way, I am a female and never felt him to be anything like the above review ( but not to take away from her pain) Would still be a patient if we lived in the same state!

In looking for a new psychiatrist, I consulted Dr. Weiss. In the first appointment I told him my history of sexual abuse by a previous health-care provider. Weiss insisted that I needed to take responsibility for "canoodling" (his word) with my former doctor. He was completely oblivious to the possibility of coercion or of the caregiver's fiduciary duty to behave responsibly at all times. Weiss thus revealed himself as a member of the dinosaur generation of male doctors who think such exploitation their privilege, blaming the victim as if she had equal agency and sharpening the insult with his egregiously degrading language. My advice? Women, and especially sexual-abuse survivors, avoid Dr. Weiss!
