Dr. James Lowell Wilder, MD

I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. Someone who is so entirely deprived of any compassion should not be a doctor, let alone treat terminally ill patients. Few things about dr Wilder (and there were many more): 1. He sent my mother home only 5 days after performing an extensive surgery on her (hysterectomy and oophorectomy). The home care nurse noticed the wound was oozing so she called his office to report the problem. No response, she sent pictures of the wound, still no response. Finally, his nurse called back 6 hours later, urging my mother to come asap for another surgery. It turns out the stitches broke and her intestines were coming out. 2. Following the surgeries, my mother had 6 sessions of chemo, with blood work done before and after each session, and CT scan after the first 3 sessions. He said everything was looking good. Then after the 6th session, she had a PET scan done which showed the cancer was back. It was in her pelvis, lungs and spine. Not only did… he miss the cancer recurrence for over 6 months (during which time we could have changed doctors, treatment and ultimately saved my mother), but he also refused to treat her anymore. After finding out my mother’s insurance wouldn’t cover immunotherapy, his communication with her stopped. He said her cancer was too advanced. 3. When I called to speak with him so he could repeat what he already told my mother about her cancer metastasis (she doesn’t speak English well), his assistant said I had to schedule a telemedicine with him. The appointment they gave us was a month away (nothing earlier for a terminally ill patient he’d been treating for 7 months?). He ended up canceling that telemedicine appointment anyway. He didn’t even have basic humanity to talk for 2 minutes to a heartbroken family, leaving us without any answers. A contrasting side note: in the meantime, we contacted another oncologist who never treated my mother before. Without any charge or telemedicine, he reviewed my mother’s records and called us from his personal cell phone to give us his medical opinion for 30 minutes. 4. Three months after the last chemo session dr Wilder recommended, my mother is now dead.

Dr. Wilder performed a robotic hysterectomy on me and I’m healing beautifully and never had any pain. He is a caring professional who instills trust by listening and patiently answering questions. His calm demeanor really puts one at ease. Would recommend him to everyone.

He was very distracted at every visit I had with him. Was VERY late (2 hours+) on every office visit. He was even late for surgery. Sad. I understand that emergencies happen but not every office visit! Poor planning. Money motivated? The surgery was fine. I hope no problems arise in the future. Several commented that he is ALWAYS late. (Patients, office staff, nurses, hospital staff). Not acceptable. Demonstrates disrespect. Lastly, his staff is unfriendly, unprofessional and just plain rude. The male nurse that assisted in surgery at hospital was the only genuinely caring person we encountered on this difficult journey.

Dr. Wilder saved my life when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer! I am now 7 years cancer free! His staff is excellent too. He did my surgery and place my ports. Chemo is done right in his office. He's a busy doctor but he does take time to answer your questions. Be prepared to wait when you have an appointment and be prepared that your appointment may be rescheduled. He does a lot of emergency surgeries so I don't mind, that could have been me! Thank you Dr. Wilder and staff.

In 2010 Dr. Wilder gave me a radical surgery that truly saved my life. I had been in remission for four years! He cares about his patients no doubt about that. . God truly blessed me with Dr. James Wilder.
