I have been a patient of Dr. Wise for 12 years. He is a no fuss-no muss doc, does not push unnecessary procedures or drugs, and always listens to my input regarding treatment before advising me. He has had my lupus under control for many years now. His demeanor is very calm and reassuring, he respects my point of view, and he cares about what I think, which gives me great peace of mind!

I am in my late 30's. I went to see Dr.James Wise a few yrs back because of joint pain, muscle weakness & arthritis type symptoms which I have had since very young and Rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family, my mom, my grandmother and my grandmothers father all had. Anyway Dr.Wise basicly left me in tears because he said my symptoms were from trauma and I needed anti-depressants. He cut me off from trying to explain that I had symptoms in my fingers since very young. Long story short, I test negative for Rheumatoid but I am positive for Rheumatoid Arthritis Antibody's which Dr.Wise didn't test me for. (I am Sero-Positive) Also now I am dealing with Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Bilateral Cubital Tunnel Syndrome as per EMG/NCV tests and shoulder joint pain as I can hardly move my arms or lift them above my head which I had the beginning symptoms of when I went to see Dr.Wise. It may have been prevented or slowed down had I been diagnosed properly and been able to be treated… correctly. The Orthopedic Surgeon I am dealing with now said I should have been treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis before. No Thanks to Dr.James Wise though.

Dr Wises bedside manner was HORRIBLE. He went over my medication and asked me if it was "some sort of bi-polar thingy ". I was referred to see him by my family practitioner because I have trouble with my joints and developed a Bakers cyst. Rheumatoid arthritis is in my family. Dr. Wise told me that he had absolutely no idea why I have chronic joint pain and he told me that he had absolutely no idea why I developed a Bakers cyst. I got a second opinion. Guess what. I have rheumatoid arthritis.
