Needs to go back to Brown and take a Communications class- no skills

I won the medical lottery when I met Dr. Yoo. With a new less invasive surgery (Cels) I was spared a long recovery from the colon resection I was told I needed. Dr. Yoo and his team are amazing, because of them the quality of my life did not change. I will be forever grateful for the life changing surgery.

This man does not possess the humanity of a physician. He may as well be a robot. He's impatient and arrogant when patients ask questions of him. I won't be continuing care with this person.

I consulted with Dr. Yoo a couple of times in 2012 and ended up being very disappointed with his rather stingy responses to questions. For sure, he'll answer the first few; but, it's easy to ask "one too many." That's when he gets annoyed and impatient. I have no doubt but that he knows his stuff. No doubt whatsoever. But, he needs to work on what I'll call, for want of a better descriptor, improving his "bedside manner." He needs to understand that many, if not most, patients want to know UPFRONT what to expect, instead of waiting until everything is finished and then being told (if there's a problem), "Oh's that normal in these kinds of situations."

Dr.Yoo treated my daughter for approximately 7 mo. Dr. Yoo took over her medical problems when we transferred to UCLA at our request. He was very precise, very good at explaining everything to us, follow-ups were done in office, via phone & text. I would recommend this doctor to anyone who needs surgery. Actually I already DO recommend him. Top quality care from a top quality Doctor. Has a great sense of humor which was a major bonus for us, as we greatly needed hope.

I BROUGHT MY MOM TO SEE THIS DOCTOR AS SHE HAD COLON ISSUES AND HAD RECTAL BLEEDING. HE DID DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM AND SEEMED NICE IN THE BEGINNING. HE THEN GOT IRRITATED AFTER 10 MINUTES AND WANTED TO LEAVE THE ROOM AFTER WE ASKED 4 OR 5 QUESTIONS. I THINK WE JUST KEPT HIM THERE 5 MINUTES TO LONG. HE SHUT DOWN AND WAS THINKING OF SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF VISIT. HE SEEMED TO GET IMPATIENT IF HE HAD TO REPEAT HIMSELF. WHY BE A DOCTOR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE? MAYBE HE SHOULD GET A DESK JOB? THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY COMPETENT.

Top Top Surgeon - skilled and experienced.Excellent communicator and follow up post surgery.My surgery was complicated and Dr. Yoo executed it in text book fashion.I am told UCLA sees the more complicated colorectal surgery cases and Dr. Yoo is a key member of the UCLA Colorectal surgical team.
