Dr. James Douglas Youngman, MD

showed up for my 8 AM appointment and was told by Paige who was not wearing a mask and identified herself as the “office manager“ (from what I could tell she was an office of one) and told me I couldn’t be seen without a paper copy of my insurance card and my drivers license which I didn’t with me. None of these things were expressed a month ago and I made my appointment. I began to play the message page had left me but she said oh no I wouldn’t have said it in that. Well Paige, that’s the only correspondence I had with from you because I also asked that you just book the appointment because I’m really bad about calling back. One of my issues! You know, things people see a psychologist and psychiatrist for. To work on their issues! Paige, who is as unsympathetic and cold as anyone I’ve ever seen, let alone someone working in the therapists office, didn’t even ask if I had time to go home and get it. I live seven minutes away. I still could’ve been on time for my appointment.… Unfortunately this wasn’t even a subject she bothered broaching. When I asked if there was someone else I could talk to she said she’s the office manager, I pointed out she wasn’t the office manager of the world so there had to be someone else. She told me to leave. I’ve waited a month for this appointment, stopped pursuing other avenues of Doctors, woke up before the sun, and I am completely out of my medication. Paige was helpful enough to tell me I could come back in about a month. While obviously I was unable to meet any doctor, I couldn’t imagine seeing somebody who employed someone as crass and cold as Paige. Also, who works in a doctors office and doesn’t wear a mask during a pandemic.

I am very grateful to Dr. Y. He is intelligent in his field, does not rush me or look down on me. I feel like God dropped him into my life when I needed him the most. If it were not for Dr. Y. I would not be here today.

It's difficult for me to understand the negative reviews. I've been seeing Dr. Youngman for almost 15 years and have always found him to be caring and empathetic. He was also very willing and timely in completing any paperwork needed for my job. I think sometimes that people have unrealistic expectations about what psychiatrists can do. After all, they are only human and are not miracle workers nor can they cure mental disorders. I do agree that the office assistant can be abrasive but I've only had to deal with her infrequently.

Dr Youngman has saved my life. He isa brilliant doctor and one of the nicest gentleman I have ever met. Right up there with my husban and my Dad. I am so lucky to have been treated by Dr Youngman for many years. His office manager Paige is so kind, helpful and efficient.0

Page his office staff is rude and lies. No empathy whatsoever. She tried giving me medical advice as well on two separate occassions. Dr. Youngman stated that maybe I needed to find a new Dr. after trying only.one medication to treat my insomnia due to.a medication that he prescribed. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. So upset.

We have always found this man to be compassionate and caring. I think that sometimes a person who has problems for which they need psychiatric care are prone to be hypercritical of their doctors, medications, and just about everyone around them!

I would never recommend this office to any person. When you call into the office 80% of the time to will get a fax machine. The office staff Page is very rude and has no empathy. I wish I had never gone to this office it has only caused me more stress and greater my depression.

Wait less than 5 minutes. I find Dr. Youngman very empathetic and supportive. He's provided me with ideas on how to deal with certain situations as well as adjusting my medication.

He insulted me, Called me fat, and stated he couldn't help be because people with my condition couldn't be trusted to take medicine on a regiment so there was no point in trying anyway.I left the visit and have found another doctor that was able to help me and I am able to live a fully productive life.

Dr. Youngman can be fairly distant and frequently interrupts and shows signs of not listening to what I say or the emotional impact of difficult times.I saw him because he was the only in-network psychiatrist I could find with a Christian background but there are very few signs of that in his advice and practices.
