Dr. James Edward Zins, MD

I went in with a very specific request for Dr Zins. He proceeded to tell me a series of things that needed done in order to improve my daily living. I later found out these aspects could have been achieved without the changes he made to my appearance. He repeatedly said "we like to see" to which I told him these were not things I wanted. I assumed he was listening. After surgery I read his surgical notes from the morning of surgery. He listed complaints and negatives for aspects of my appearance I saw as positives, aspects of my appearance which represented my ethnicity. He altered my appearance in ways I did not agree to, in ways I did not want. There are issues beyond this which the plastics department says will resolve but I have serious reservations this is true

I wish I would have read these reviews prior to coming to him! I got scammed! He charged me $840 for Botox that did absolutely nothing! The only thing it did was raise one eyebrow higher than the other. So now I constantly look weird. I get Botox all the time and never had this issue. I’ve been coming to Cleveland clinic because I trust it! Now I will be reaching out to corporate as they refuse to refund me! What a shame! Super disappointed in Cleveland clinic and his team for this one. Also I will be reaching out to my bank. This will not end till I get a complete refund! The nerve of these scammers! DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

I had two different procedures with Dr. Zins, and I am thrilled! I never thought I would have such an awesome shape.

Got it redone twice and still not satisfied with mine.. profile looks good but the front looks messed up and unlike how I used to look.. My moms smile is also crooked now!

This review is lengthy, but is definitely worth reading, especially if you are considering plastic surgery and are facing the difficult decision of whom to choose as your surgeon. I have been Dr. Zins's patient for 7 years. During that time I've had both surgical and non-surgical procedures performed by him, all with excellent results. He has proven to be an extremely skilled plastic surgeon and also, and almost as important, to have a wonderful demeanor and care about his patients. Consultations are never rushed; questions are thoughtfully and thoroughly answered and procedures are skillfully performed with excellent results. The best way to explain what an excellent doctor he is, both in and out of the operating room or office, is to relate my face lift experience. At my consultation he asked me my concerns (and really listened to my answers). The he took a mirror, so I could watch as he pointed to areas he wanted to address (happily he and I were in agreement) and… explained what he would do and what I could reasonably expect. The day of my surgery, he again thoroughly explained the procedure and what I could expect and answered my questions. Because Dr. Zins treats a face lift as major surgery, which it is, he requires patients to stay overnight at the hotel connected to the Cleveland Clinic and to have an adult stay with them (my husband stayed with me). (Most doctors perform this surgery on an outpatient basis, and patients go home the same day). To ensure my pain was controlled and any post-surgical problems were addressed promptly a nurse visited that night to thoroughly examine me and update Dr. Zins on my condition. Early the next morning he and his nurse came to my room; he examined me and the nurse stood in the bathroom while I showered to help if I felt unsteady . Before leaving he said (to my surprise) that he'd see me in his office that afternoon and GAVE ME HIS CELL NUMBER WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO CALL IF I HAD ANY CONCERNS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I've had surgery many times and no doctor has ever given me his personal number to contact. The next day he called to see how I and exactly a week after surgery he saw me in his office. Even before I saw him, however, I could see my results and they were outstanding entirely due to Dr. Zins's incredible skill and painstaking attention to detail. The fifth day after surgery I went to dinner with friends (2 had had had faced neck lifts). All were astounded that I looked as though I'd had surgery weeks earlier. Since then people who know I've had surgery think my results are incredible, in part because they are so natural. People who don't know I've had a facelift cant't believe my age when i tell them, and people I haven't seen in years complain that they've aged but I look the same, and it must be my great genes. I can never thank Dr. Zins enough. As long as he continues to practice, I will continue to be his patient.

Dr. Zins is a very nice man, very kind and caring and always made me feel like he understood what I wanted. After my first rhinoplasty, as soon as he removed the cast (I know it takes a year for the swelling to go down) I could tell I hadn’t like what he had done. He suggested I wait a year and we can revisit the situation then. After a year goes by I make an appointment and he agreed that we should do a revision. This time the revision rhinoplasty was free for us however they made us pay $800 in anesthesia meds. which was ridiculous because I had to have this surgery again because he did it wrong the first time. Anyway, after the second surgery, it has now been almost 5 months and my nose looks just as bad as it did before and I’m looking for another surgeon to fix it. DONT USE DR. ZINS IF YOU DONT WANT A VERY VERY NATURAL NOSE JON. SO NATURAL IT LOOKS JUST AS BAD

Having researched plastic surgeons I selected Dr. Zins. Now, just a few days out from the procedures (facelift and fat transfer), I am already seeing the results I had hoped for. I still am swollen, but am very pleased with Dr. Zins' caring and professional demeanor. He guided me through the various stages of preoperative and postoperative care needed. I trusted him 100% and know that for me, there is no better plastic surgeon to perform these procedures.

Dr zins is an incredible talent, who takes special care of his patients after surgery. I could not be happier.
