Dr. Jamie Annemarie Cannon, MD

Dr. Cannon is the most compassionate surgeon we have ever dealt with. She took a very a bad situation in our life and gave us hope. She always has time to answer every question and you feel like you are her top priority. My husband had surgery by her on Dec. 3rd and is doing very well. Her nurse Teresa is the best too!!

Dr Cannon took a difficult situation and Made it work where I honestly believe that no one else would have or could have. Had not been given much hope. Cannot day enough good things about her expertise, caring and experience. She is one of a kind for sure. Will always be very grateful to her for restoring my life back to me.

This Dr. Is excellent, compassionate and knows her field. I was scheduled for her to do my surgery November 30th and was approved to see her out of network because I have gastroparesis and have colonic inertia. My insurance company is Humana and on the 29th of November I find out my insurance company denied the surgery because of the facility. I saw her on Nov. 6th. Had PAT'S Nov. 21st. I am so disappointed because I don't want anyone else but Dr. Cannon. I feel her procedure would have left me with a greater chance of a faster recovery. I don't know any other Dr. In the Birmingham area that does the robotic abdominal collectomy. I don't know when the the office started working on getting the surgery approved but on Wednesday Nov. 29th I spent several hours on the phone and was told by a supervisor at Humana after a denial is given the doctor or his office has 5 days to make an appeal. I don't know what is right or who is in the right. I know I'm the patient wanting to feel… better only to be let down by red tape!

CAPABLE, RELIABLE AND CONSIDERATE

Great Doctor but needs more hours from her office.. once a week isn't enough

Dr Cannon is by far the BEST SURGEON that I have ever encountered. She performed a serious tumor removal from my mother's small intestine/colon. And I have never met any doctor that had such heartfelt concern for her patient and their family. She is never too busy to speak with you, just to be reassured. Her smile, is refreshing too.....she never made us feel like we were taking up her precious time if we had questions. Birmingham is LUCKY to have her !!!!

Dr.Cannon and her staff are the best medical care providers I have ever experienced! Dr Cannon displayed the kind of compassion and professionalism that I have never experienced with any other Doctor and the UAB facility was second to none!
