Jamie J. Van Gompel, M.D., is a neurosurgeon at Mayo Clinic’s Rochester, Minnesota campus. Dr. Van Gompel's overall research goal is to develop the safest and most effective treatments for people with pituitary and skull base tumors and developing surgical options …for patients with medically and surgically resistant epilepsy. His did everything I could ever had prayed for going into my life threatening brain operations. He and his staff responded to everything quickly and thoroughly. See him if you have any chance.

Dr. VanGompel and his team made the best experience of a scary situation. The removal of my skull based meningioma had the very best outcome. He is as talented, gifted, caring, surgeon with amazing skills. My scar is barely visable, he did not use staples to close my incision. I could not be more blessed!

Dr. Van Gompel saw me after I was seen by several institutions and after failed surgery elsewhere, when there was no hope he was able to do a pituitary operation that resulted in removal of my tumor without any problems. The care received by his team and the hospital was amazing.

He has wonderful bedside manner and was obviously very knowledgeable, yet explained everything to us in layman’s terms. He saved my husbands life!

Dr. Van Gompel resected my husbands grade 2 ependymoma completely in 13 hours. He saved his life!! He has wonderful bedside manner and knew how to explain to us in Laymans terms what was going on. He was wonderful in all areas!

Dr. Van Gompel is a brilliant surgeon with gifted hands. He correctly diagnosed me and performed a craniotomy and it's like it didn't even happen--the scar is so well concealed and so smooth. He really cared about me and my situation and I am blessed to have had him remove my bone tumor.

Dr VanGompel removed a large craniopharyngioma from my motherâ??s pituitary region after working on her for 13.5 hours. This man is amazing.
