Jamie Zornes

I have more than a decade working with the most vulnerable members of society and the criminal justice system, I am passionate about building a therapeutic relationship based on a trusting partnership between myself and my clients. When there is a relationship built on familiarity and trust everyone feels comfortable which fosters growth and change.

My education and on the job experience developed my interpersonal skills highlighting my ability to be understanding, courteous, empathic. These experiences have helped me to relate well to people from varied backgrounds and situations, and successfully support individuals dealing with a multitude of struggles. Working in these programs has furthermore increased my efficiency in case management, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and my motivational interviewing skills.

I was diagnosed with a form of Dyslexia when I was in my early twenties when first attending Metropolitan State University of Denver. With minimal accommodations I …have been able to not only complete a bachelor’s degree but have gone on to obtain an advanced degree. I have, despite my disability, successfully worked in a field that has high expectations for oral and written communication skills. This personal experience has foster a motivation and belief in myself and the people I work with. I believe when you put your mind to it, with hard work and the right supports and you can accomplish anything.

I feel that my continued education, training and experience in life and in the field help to better me as a Social worker for my clients. I hope to get the opportunity to meet with you and support you in the pursuit of change and personal development.
