Dr. Jan E. Mccann

If you want a doctor who lacks compassion, professionalism, and basic human decency, Dr. McCann is it. I brought my 95-year-old mother to her 11:00 AM appointment today, a Friday, located in a chaotic hospital adjacent medical plaza with inadequate disabled parking and a jammed parking multi-level parking structure. After finally getting parked and slowly helping her up to the 4th floor, we had trouble finding which suite because that directory had other company names he shared. Standing in the hallway, I said out loud, “McCann, Suite 485” after looking it up on my phone while next to a man who looked like a doctor that came around the corner and was waiting to take the elevator. Soon after, I discovered that man turned out to be Dr. McCann himself, according to the photo on his website. He heard me say his name and suite, stood right next to me, knew exactly where we were trying to go, and chose to silently walk into the elevator instead of helping his appointment with us. A frail… 95-year-old woman, standing feet away from his office. We arrived 8 minutes late. His receptionist informed us he had “just left,” despite us being the last appointment of the day at 11:00 AM. She called him and explained the situation. He refused to come back. Imagine being so inconvenienced by an elderly patient arriving 8 minutes late after navigating disabled parking and a confusing medical building that you leave anyway — after literally passing them in the hallway and pretending not to notice. Medicine is apparently just a job to this man. Compassion clearly never entered the building. Avoid if you expect even minimal courtesy or humanity.
