If you're a student, find another PsyD, even if you have to pay out of pocket. This practitioner is not effective in treating common conditions such as anxiety and depression. My experience was that I was referred by a counselor at the student counseling office. In hindsight, the counselor was wrong to refer me as I did not need medication; however, the counselor refused to let me schedule another appointment unless I followed her "doctors' orders" to see a psychiatrist, specifically Dr Osborne. I was put on numerous (up to 3) strong GENERIC antidepressants at the same time (note: I have since learned that generic psychotropic medications have more side effects and worse efficacy than the name brands of the "same" medication - do not accept generics if you need medication for depression/anxiety). My personality immediately changed for the worse and my self-esteem nosedived. In subsequent follow-ups I expressed that I was "not feeling significantly better" and thought I either… needed a different dose or different medication. Dr Osborne laughed and said that antidepressants weren't meant to make you feel better, they were just meant to take the edge off. She then went on to say, "The only way to take the edge off would be to euthanize you." That is simply not something you say to someone who is coming to you with serious anxiety and depression and has expressed that the medication is actually making them feel worse. At that point I felt that both my counselor and doctor had given up on me (with euthanasia being the only option for me to "get better"). Based on my experience, I would never EVER recommend Dr Osborne to anyone.
