Dr. Janak Harshad Naik, MD

I am 81 years old, have some experience in the medical field, and have never had a more thorough physician. Dr. Naik exemplifies respect and honesty toward his patients. I am so grateful for his care.

Dr. Naik was my doctor for several years, though I wished I had a different one. First, I will say that he is a nice enough person, but I experienced too many instances that I found unacceptable. For example, some other people I know also go to him, and one time he said something, either to me or to my spouse (but in my presence) about having recently seen one of those people. That was a clear violation of doctor-patient privilege. Another time, I was informed that I had a mole in a certain area, but that it was not cancerous. I already knew about the mole, and that it was not cancerous. I just felt like he was being weird about it. In another incident, he asked if I wanted to control a disturbing and uncomfortable symptom. Um, yes. Of course I did. That was bizarre, and made me feel uncomfortable. Yet another instance is when I was present while someone explained that they may have had a miscarriage, and that her next period was very light. I saw his notes was… disturbed; he had written "late period, order pregnancy test". That is clearly not what the patient had specified. He also seems to like to diagnose people with bladder infections when they don't actually have any infection. At least one of those times resulted in a female patient taking unnecessary antibiotics, which caused a severe vaginal yeast infection. Some of the procedures/tests/exams that he did seemed to have been done by someone who did not have much knowledge of or experience with doing medical procedures. I felt like he did not listen well, and he did not seem to understand what I was talking about. A doctor needs to be able to listen well, ask relevant questions, give accurate diagnosis, and have good communication skills in general, as well as maintaining patient privacy. Some people feel that he is a great doctor, but I did not have that experience myself.

Dr. Naik is an excellent doctor. After seeing the great care he was taking of my parents, I decided to make him my PCP too. Heâ??s very easy to talk to and he takes the time to listen to you. I feel he truly cares about my health and wellbeing.

Thorough & compassionate! He's been my family's physician for over 10 years. Always seeks out the cause for any medical issues.
