I highly recommend Dr Jane Braun I have been with her 1year. She is a Excellent doctor who care, understands, listen to all my problems and helps me every visit. I highly recommend her you won't be disappointed. Every day Ifeel stronger due to her.

Sought Dr for dependency issues and was told we will have 60 min max initial session. Came to be 2-hour surreal twisting of hands. Widely recognized standard procedures were blatantly disregarded during this most important session. There was no reflective empathic ability shown towards the patient during the whole session. In fact, it was the opposite. making the patient uncomfortable by continuing with a session even after the patient suggested that it would be better to regroup some other day (at 1 hour and 15 minutes). However, this continued for another 45 + minutes. Upon this time the doctor instead of saying to the patient " take your time no need to make the decision right now". "If you're not ready, it is fine". But the dr did something completely opposite! The patient was pressured, numerous different attempts made to instill agreement to the one and only perfect approach. All this, while disregarding the basic communication fascinating method of paraphrasing and reflecting.… This could have been done by stating "okay I see what you're saying", Or even "must have been hard for you to come in here today", or "it seems like you have been through a lot". Perhaps without her even realizing, (right!) The patient was victimized as a result of this interview session. The patient stated he is unwilling to see any other therapist after the junction with this dr. This doctor basically pushed the patient to the edge by ignoring brought up facts that the patient was sleep deprived fatigued and was on new medication. Physically patient seemed distraught and confused. Few times the patient expressed a significant level of hesitancy in making any type of decision. The doctor refused to compromise via the simple method of giving the patient some kind of flexibility in regards to having to make a decision. More professional Dr would have stated " I do see your point of view" or, most basic " it seems like you're saying that. " Without any physiological data, the patient was labeled as "physically dependent" and indirectly told to continue drinking. benzodiazepine discontinuation was insisted upon. Even given fact that past attempts to taper before led to ever-increasing levels of alcohol consumption, the doctor insisted, even more, stating " it's better to peel off the Band-Aid quicker and slower". Hence, almost acting like psychiatrist all know how. confronted by the patient that this might induce experience so uncomfortable that the patient might never again seek treatment in the future, the doctor completely disregarded this notion, even refusing to acknowledge what was stated. no reaction whatsoever as if it had no basis. patient admitted self-assertiveness issues, perceives high social anxiety, and avoid social circumstances that are stressful, the doctor continued by pressing on with her suggested treatment method. The patient wanted outpatient help and was willing to come two times a week. Yet again, the doctor failed to once again reflect-paraphrase on any of this. there was no reaction as if the patient's words were meaningless, not worth addressing, insignificant, not even worth to respond by saying "you are brave" when the patient stated that benzodiazepines are non-toxic, yet alcohol is highly toxic, the doctor again refused to even acknowledge his statement. Went on with her angle of "benzodiazepine withdrawal would be not only the best, it the prerequisite." Implying that recovery from alcohol dependency is impossible until then. Patient's father died from the alcohol, the very humane thing would do you feel about that, what feelings come up? I'm very sorry it must be difficult."These wars did not exist in Dr's vocab. It is not enough patient is a victim of addiction. For whatever reason the Dr failed to realize that she was victimizing the patient by her cold and unprofessional demeanor. Not even thank you for coming in to see her or congratulating on the patient having the will to come in and address the difficult issues.
