Dr. Jane Edwards Roach, MD

I recently received a note that our insurance no longer cover Dr. Roach. I was thrilled to know that Dr. Roach is still a Pediatrician. Anyone who has Dr. Roach as their pediatrician has a goldmine. Newly pregnant and clueless I researched pediatricians in my area. I talked to a pediatrician in the practice and thought fine. So I listed the practice as my Pediatrician with the hospital i was to give birth. The delivery was difficult. The delivery doctor did not realize how large the baby was. After 20 hrs of pushing my daughter needed a vacuum and finally delivered, she should have been a C-section. 9lb baby delivered vaginally from a 5 ft 120 lb woman. My daughter was blueish and had labored breathing. She was immediately sent to ICU- I didn't get to hold her. I remember waking up and was being asked to sign a waiver by the Gyno group. Now I know that the Gyno group that delivered her did not want to take responsibility for any problems that potentially she would have… due to the challenging delivery. Later I was talking to one of the nurses about how my daughter was. She said your Gyno Dr. left after the birth but the Pediatrician on call (Dr. Roach) was contacted when your daughter was sent to ICU. Dr. Roach instructed the Nurses on adjusting the oxygen to get her color back. The nurse went on to say how lucky I was to have such a knowledgeable Doctor on call because a lot of babies born this way end up with serious problems. Almost 21 years later my daughter is in college and just the most wonderful daughter a mom could ever want. I don't know what would have happened if we had a different pediatrician. Dr. Roach was her pediatrician and her brothers for a few more years before she left Columbus. No one has ever been as caring and knowledgable,
