Dr Jane I. Ruman, MD

Started initial visit by saying I have another pt and this visit will be abbreviated. Spent a chunk of the abbreviated visit reading statistics and trying to push an opinion on us that we already mention it against our religion. No exam at all. Gave medical opinion with no exam, no diagnostic, no blood test, she decided purly based on age against her statistics

So far my wife and I have had a positive experience with Dr. Ruman and the knowledge she has been able to provide in starting our fertility journey.

We have been working with Dr. Ruman for the past year. Our experience has been good overall. She successfully guided us through our first IVF cycle and recently our second cycle. She was able to study the results from the previous cycle and make the proper adjustments to our treatment that lead to more favorable outcomes at egg retrieval. I appreciate her years of experience and dedication to the profession.

She is very knowledgeable and has done her research to get to the root cause of my infertility. She is willing to above and beyond.

Dr. Ruman did some initial testing on myself and my husband that all came back normal. We tried 50 mg of Clomid with timed intercourse for one month at my request (wanted to try that before IUI) with no luck. We did an IUI the next month and it failed. Due to lack of funds I asked if we could keep trying Clomid and timed intercourse for a few months and she agreed. I spent a total of 6-7 cycles of taking 50 mg of Clomid with no results. We had two chemical pregnancies in two consecutive months. She did further testing to make sure it wasn't a clotting issue, etc., but found all normal results. She then advised me that IVF was my only option. I am an RN and wanted more explanation, more details. All she offered was a video conference about IVF. I've now received a second opinion and have learned that my inhibin B is high and that I need a higher dose of Clomid for that reason. The testing that was done to arrive at this conclusion is called a Lupron Challenge Test. This was never… offered to me by Dr. Ruman. I have been advised to try IUI again on the higher Clomid dose and to take oral estrogen and progesterone beginning the day after the insemination. Again, this was never offered to me by Dr. Ruman - instead, she had me begin vaginal progesterone IF I had a positive pregnancy test. I feel that Dr. Ruman, at best, neglected to perform all necessary testing to find the root of my problems getting pregnant. I felt that she was rushing me to IVF and not investigating all other options.

She is just horrible. Botched a surgery that another doctor then had to fix. I was in severe pain and took months to recover. One of the most traumatic experiences of my life. Avoid at any cost.

Horrible experience. She did not even introduce herself to me and said all of five words to me before and after she gave me an ultrasound the morning I was to have the OVD shot after clomid. Stay away!!!
