Dr. Jane Maroney Sayem El-Dahr, MD

I used to believe that doctors should have the answers, and if they don't they should keep looking or concede and collaborate to find solutions. Sadly, that is rare. Medicine is a science, and trained healthcare professionals are making educated guesses based upon test results, observation and symptoms. I'm grateful beyond words that I found a practitioner that didn't stop at one guess, but kept digging until she found a viable conclusion. She was also willing to work with docs from other hospitals to confirm diagnosis and treatment for my daughter. Thus, leaving her ego at the door. My daughter was correctly diagnosed by El Dahr after months of misdiagnosis and treatment from other well known specialists in New Orleans. She never once "threw them under the bus". While the months of misdiagnosis and treatment gravely affected my daughters health, Dr. El Dahr moved toward treating my daughter effectively and getting our family on to the healing process, rather than focusing on… what should have been caught in the beginning by other practitioners & specialists. I've met numerous MD's & RN's in different specialties and fields who have such immense respect for El Dahr, that it only confirms what I already know. My daughter is in good hands.

After being refers to Dr Jane El Dore by another Physician. I was never completely happy with the care and bed side manner she possesed. Our seven years of dealing with her. It was never a good experience. She made us feel that the symptoms experience was exassterbated and not as they where. She was very judge-mental on what she assumed to be facts of her own judgement Nd never taking into consideration of what was going on with patient. Domcumention of what was said about symptoms where not documented correctly And false states made during the visits where put into records. We where completely dissatified with her practice.

We saw Dr. El-Dahr prior to seeing the real pediatric rheumatologist in Louisiana. The experience was very disturbing. My daughter has polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. She had pronounced joint swelling as well as a very high rheumatoid factor. If El-Dahr knew anything about JIA, she would know that there are six different types of JIA, and positive RF isn’t even required for a diagnosis. BUT the fact that my daughter DID have a very high RF coupled with significant joint swelling was very clearly indicative of JIA. She totally blew off my daughter’s very high RF, stating that she “routinely sees kids with RF in the 300s.” Really? Wow. I hope that’s not true because I would be concerned that those children are not receiving appropriate medical care since she is evidently very ignorant about JIA. It is a darned good thing we got a second opinion. My daughter is now on methotrexate and a biologic and doing so much better. El Dahr is not board certified in… rheumatology and really has absolutely no business listing herself as a specialist.

Dr. El Dahr is amazing! She spent correctly diagnosed and treated our son after being misdiagnosed with chronic hives for a year and a half.

Dr. El Dahr is a wonderful doctor. She is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. She explained my daughter's condition in terms that we both could understand. She is thorough. I would definitely recommend her! (Her nurse is great too!)

This was my sons first time seeing Dr El-Dhar. We drove 3 hours for this visit and it was worth it. She is awesome.

Have yet to have a good experience within this office. It is a miserable wait and very unorganized. Dr. El-dahr is ok, but overall experience was so frustrating.
