Dr. Jane Wen-Yi Shiu, MD

Dr. Shiu is an absolute quack. Spent 10 minutes with her, which was just enough time for her to misdiagnose me and prescribe a bunch of useless meds. Beware.

Had to wait 6 months for an appointment. She was very kind and seemed knowledgable. She missed very obvious hard bumps on my forearms, upper chest and back. Told me she's never seen anything like them after I pointed them out. She asked me if I wanted her to do a biopsy.

Worst doctor I have ever experienced.

I've lived in Redding for 30 years and have been to several dermatologists over that period of time. I started with Dr. Shiu (Bergstrom) a couple years ago and like her very much. She is very thorough and has good follow-up as far as my care is concerned. I recommend her to everyone I talk to when the subject of dermatologists come up.

My first encounter with Dr. Shiu's office was completely negative. My insurance was refused. This resulted in my paying the doctor and my insurance paying the doctor and me waiting 90 days to get reimbursed due to the double billing by the doctor. I was told, if you don't like it, see someone else. Imagine that kind of an attitude. I have seen over a dozen other doctors over the past several years and not one of them refused to accept my Medicare Supplement. I think that Dr. Shiu's practice of double billing is unacceptable and an abuse of seniors on Medicare.

Dr. Bergstrom is very caring and professional. I felt that she took a sincere interest in me and my needs. She also was amazing in dealing with my stepfather's melanoma - I would go so far as to say she saved his life by her concern and prompt response to something most doctors would have ignored. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a dermatologist.

Does not seem to really listen to the problem you are experiencing. It already appears as though she has made her decision as to what is going on with you before even entering the room or hearing what your situation is. Also has yet to prescribe or recommend any treatment that makes a difference in my acne. Planning on trying a different dermatologist.

I found Dr. Jane Bergstrom to be meticulous in her diagnostic procedures. She discussed my condition with me in depth and I felt she was concerned, sympathetic and determined to give me the best medical care. I left confident that I had the best medical care and treatment available anywhere.

Dr. bergstrom was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a Dr. When I brough my 1 1/2 yr. old daughter in with eczema like symptoms she barely looked at her and acted disgusted to even be around her. She didn't touch her at all, and barely looked at her skin. I was asking questions about eczema and it's link to diet and possible other symptoms tied to it (food & environmental allergies) that I had read online and she literally made me feel like the dumbest person in the world. I will not ever bring my child back there and I do not ever ever suggest anybody else to see this doctor. Sometimes it's not all about the credentials Dr. Bergstrom, sometimes actions speak loader than the diplomas hanging over you desk.

She is gentle and cares. Listens to what I have to say. Is very professional. Her staff is great!!! Not comfortable putting my name on this but I had an appointment today at 2:30 pm to have pre cancer spots on my face frozen.
