Dr. Jane Young Yoo, MD

I visited Dr. Jane Yoo 3 times for skin consultations. She gave me the feeling that she tried to minimize the time she spends with the patient during each office visit, and is condescending when I asked her questions, especially on why a procedure was performed. Her diagnosis was contradicted by 2 subsequent dermatologists that I saw for confirmation. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

My experience with Dr. Yoo was amazing. I had always had a very large seborrheic keratosis on my abdomen, and my previous dermatologist told me that removal would lead to noticeable scarring. Although it was aesthetically unpleasing, I never attempted to have it removed. When I moved to New York, I established care with Dr. Yoo, and during my first physical exam, she noticed the seborrheic keratosis. She expressed that she could remove it with little to no scarring. Dr. Yoo did not disappoint! The procedure was fast, painless, and Im happy to say that i have no scarring. Dr. Yoo is a kind, caring, and very skilled physician.

I have seen Dr. Yoo for both medical and cosmetic procedures and she is incredible. My results are fantastic and she has a wonderful attention to detail. She takes the time to answer my questions and I leave feeling comfortable and confident. I highly recommend her and her amazing staff.

Dr Jane You is a fantastic doctor. She will take her time and make sure that you understand all of your options. She is extremely honest and friendly. Her bedside manner is exceptional as is that of her staff. I highly recommend her . Amazing Doctor .

Doctor knew exactly what was wrong with my skin and helped get my condition under control quickly. Office staff is wonderful!

I had a mole that I had since I was a tiny baby that all of my family know about. We used to joke about it as kids, it had a sentimental value to me.This doctor just removed it for a biopsy telling her assistant it was good for her experience like I was a guinea pig. She didn’t explain anything to me why she was removing it or how much it would cost me. Of course it turned out to be benign, and now I have to pay hundreds of dollars for it. My mother would be furious if she found out. My husband sure is and telling me I should sue this doctor. She literally removed a chunk of my body for her experience and charged me for it. It’s probably going to leave a permanent scar too. I am thinking of actually talking to a lawyer, because I honk a doctor like this should be punished. *UPDATE: Only the last one of these four sentences are true (at the end of this update, taken from her response), even though they all sound very professional and that. She did give me many pages of papers to read… and sign, at the beginning of the visit and before the biopsy. They were written in medical terms, and she did not explain anything verbally. Just a bunch of printouts. I had no idea what was happening while the biopsy was going on-- I thought it was just a really painful shot. At the end of the visit, she gave me more printouts about my eczema. I was probably handed around 20 pages of paper at her office, and the total time she talked to me was less than 3 minutes. Regarding the insurance cost, any doctor I've been to always informed me about the cost in advance if they were to perform a special procedure. Saying that it's just none of her business... shows that she doesn't care. 1. the ABCDE criteria which we reviewed together at the beginning of your visit 2. At the time of your consultation, you were informed of the risk of this mole being malignant. 3. Prior to the procedure, you were informed verbally of the indication and associated risks 4. You then signed the consent form which delineated these risks, including scarring. **UPDATE: I'm pasting part of another patient's review of her on her zocdoc page here to show that I'm not the only patient who felt like a guinea pig and that she did not explain things enough (if at all) "She was almost TOO quick in her evaluation and I felt rushed to explain why I was there and what I needed. The biggest issue I had was when I showed her a scar/burn that I have on my skin and asked about how to get it removed. Before she even explained my options, she turned to the assistant and told her that they were going to inject me with something and to get it ready...? I wasn't even asked if I wanted that! I had to speak up and say, "Wait, what are we injecting into me??" It was extremely concerning and I felt like I was a lab rat instead of a patient. "
