Dr. Janet Lee Gibbens, MD

Horrie Dr. Claimed that there was no such thing as a hormone test when I went to a new PCP, that was the first think ordered. Very rude..no bedside manner. Couldn't stand her. I am 38 and have had problems since I was 19 with my cervix. Why is she a doctor. .probably for the money...do not go to this woman. Didn't want to run test and shruggede off when I had to miss so much work due to severly painful periods. She acts like she does not care andI can't help but laugh that she said it was no such thing as a hormone test. What a stupid rud doctor. If you are burnt out quit! Anyone with OHP are treated like crap with most doctors in the system anyway.

I've been seeing Dr. Gibbens since 2006 and she's been my doctor and surgeon through several procedures and diagnoses. I find her to be calming, informative and caring. There are times that I feel I need to push for more information, but I think that is because she's attempting to not overwhelm me. Overall, I am very happy with her care of me and the friendly staff.

I have waited years to write this. When I first saw Dr. Gibbens I was 40 and she recommended a Mammogram. She said it very casually and not urgent so I waited a couple months. When I got it I found out that I did have breast cancer. I had to undergo double mast., chemo, and radiation. My 5th and final surgery a yr and half into treatment was an oophorectomy. I didn't care for Dr. Gibbens. I met many Docs during my years of treatment - all professional, caring, and kind. She was none of those things. I had her do the surgery because I was so brain dead by then I didn't have it in me to shop around but now I wish I had because she continued to be rude, curt and show no compassion. I can't imaging treating anyone that way let alone a woman and mother of 2 very young kids who just went through the barbaric tortures of cancer treatment. Shame on you Dr. Gibbens!!

I went to Dr. Gibbens with a series of symptoms trying to figure out what I had. She barely listened or asked me questions. She basically didn't want to find out about it. She ordered a few blood tests but never got back to me to discuss the results. She had a CMA send me a "dictated" 3 line note that meant nothing.. there was no follow up to my symptoms or how I could feel better. One of the results said the levels were "barely normal" and that was it... I had a mammogram a few days later and again NEVER heard back. I had to call to ask for results. Needless to say, I am changing doctors. The docs at OHSU are the best, but my insurance won't cover. So, I am looking for others. What a disappointment. Having been a patient at UCSF and OHSU, Dr. Gibbens proves why they are the best medical facilities in this country.
