Condescending without empathy

Instead of treating my rosacea with a topical cream first (cheaper), she went for the laser. Each pump is $250 (I don't get it around my eyes thank god). As a result of botched lasering I have a large circular loss of pigment on my cheek. I also had blue light therapy (which she highly recommended to me to get twice a year to prevent skin cancer as i'm a redhead- and I'm only 35). That was a medical nightmare. The equipment wouldn't turn on properly (which she was just learning how to use) and i had the topical solution for an extra 20 minutes on my face resulting is HORRIBLE swelling and blistering. I should have know when I looked at the receptionist's extreme botox job that I was in the wrong place.

I have been a patient of Dr. Prystowsky for about four years. I was referred to her by my own internist who is also top in her field. I find Dr. P to be an excellent professional and is first / foremost a doctor. She is very knowledgeable and very, very thorough. I go to her for my yearly preventative skin cancer screenings and should I have any other skin issues during the year, I rely on her. She and her staff are friendly and kind. They do not keep their policy about insurance a secret and, I recall when I set up my first appointment years ago, they brought up the subject with me. I highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of a quality dermatologist. I also highy recommend the Livad A/D skin creme her office sells. It is a well priced creme that works wonderfully - much better than all those high priced commercial cremes I've tried over the years. Obviously, I am a fan of Dr. Prystowsky. I became a fan because of my experience with her and her staff.

Anyone but this doctor

after receiving botox and having it turn out to be administered in the wrong place in my forehead causing my eyelids to droop not only did dr. prystowsky attempt to make it MY FAULT but got in my personal space after hearing a comment i made to her PA. she then grabbed my arm. this woman is out to make money and could care less about her patients. also quite condescending

I needed to find a new dermatologist in the city for various and sundry skin ailments/concerns. My primary physician highly recommended Dr. Prystowski. On the day of my visit, the office was short staffed due to a illness. I had to wait 40 minutes to be seen. However, once I met with the doctor, I was given a very, very thorough exam (far more thorough than I had ever experienced before at a dermatologist's office - she checks every nook and crany on your body for potential cancers - and I mean EVERY nook and cranny!) Dr. Prystowski has a very warm/kind bedside manner and made me feel completely at ease. Although I was aware that she had other appointments waiting, and she was certainly using her time with me as efficiently as possible, I did not feel the visit was rushed. I felt I had her full attention and care. My one complaint (and it is true of most doctors these days) is that her office sent me a very long detailed history request that I spent quite a bit of time filling… out prior to the day of my appt. As requested, I brought it with me to the appt, but it was clear the doctor didn't have more than a few moments to glance at it. Fortunately, there was nothing seriously wrong with me. I asked for some lotions to help with some skin problems. Dr. Pryskowsi suggested some generic products that she felt would be just as effective and helped save me some money.I am certainly pleased I went to her and consider Dt. Pryskowski to be my new official dermatologist. I believe I am in good hands and highly recommend her.
