Dr. Janet Smith (Stasiak)DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, ASDCSDr. Smith has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and is board certified as both a Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a comprehensive understanding of how medications interact on both the mind and body and has a holistic approach to mental health. She has been an RN since 1996 and has worked in many specialties including open heart recovery, ICU, ER, and hospice.Dr. Smith worked as a family nurse practitioner for years and was frustrated that there was no where to refer patients for mental health care. She chose to return for a post-doctorate degree in psychiatry to provide the care she knew was desperately needed. She also chose to get additional education and certification in Autism because her spouse and daughter are on the spectrum. She personally knows how difficult it can be to find providers who understand each person's unique needs.
