Dr. Janet Sue Specter, MD

I am not sure what people were complaining about. We have been going to Dr. Specter for several years now, and the people in the office and on the phone are unfailingly polite, competent, and professional. As for Dr. Specter, we like her low-key, panic-free approach. She treats you like an adult. She doesn't order unnecessary tests, and doesn't hit the panic button at every little symptom. For example, my husband is constantly clearing his throat. I thought for sure that was a sign of something bad, especially since he smoked for twenty-some years. Dr. Specter looked him over, looked at the records from his pulmonologist (he had pleurisy when he was young so went to that doctor to check that out), and she said, no, it's nothing, when we get older we produce more phlegm, that's all. So her manner is very reassuring and calm. We are very pleased with Dr. Specter and the practice and highly recommend them.

Went for a physical at this office. Sat naked in a paper gown in a tiny exam room. Waited 45 minutes until I walked out to the desk to see if they knew I was still there. Continued to wait. Visit was rushed. Recieved a bill in the mail for a well visit (physical). Called office a number of times to ask why I was billed and had no call back. Finally spoke to the office manager who was argorant, wouldn't let me speak and hung up the phone. I have never experienced such poor health care. I will never step foot in that office and my family had the same complaints. I highly recommend going to a different office. By far the rudest staff I've ever been in contact with.

I really like Dr. Specter and I do not like many doctors. She is thorough and smart. I have never had to wait very long for an appointment or in her office. She has the nicest staff anywhere.

I had a visit with Janet Spector because I was very ill and unable to get a same-day appointment with my primary care doctor at the same office. After a considerable wait in the exam room, Spector stormed in wearing a T-shirt, slammed the door behind her and started asking me questions without introducing herself. I reported flu-like symptoms and SHE LITERALLY LAUGHED IN MY FACE. I was taken aback by her unprofessional manner. The front desk staff were all very nice but Spector is an embarrassment to this office.

I wish I could give a good review because this is a very nice doctor. However based only on my verbal description of my internal medical issue, she gave me an (incorrect) diagnosis without doing any actual tests or procedures. Gave a diagnosis but no real form of treatment or resolution, basically sent me away. My issue compounded by me doing nothing about it, and only a year later do I have a correct diagnosis and finally a treatment plan in place.
