Dr. Janet Mary Sweetman, MD

I woke up with severe esophageal spasms making it impossible to swallow anything at all including any liquid. I was also having spasms on my entire right side. I waited a few hours to see if I would be able to swallow anything before going to the ER. I knew I was severely dehydrated and I needed help. Dr. Sweetman listed the chief complaint as right arm pain and weakness. I specifically told Dr. Sweetman I couldn’t swallow anything and I would need an IV. I was ignored and had opioids pushed on me. My inability to swallow anything at all was never even addressed. I was discharged from the ER profoundly dehydrated and still unable to swallow. I received discharge instructions listing dehydration as a cause of muscle spasms. Well, the ER has intravenous saline (IVs) to help with dehydration. Why wasn’t an IV provided to me? Dr. Sweetman presented a very angry and contemptuous attitude toward me.
