Dr. Janet Chyng Jiau Zhang, MD

I have been Dr. Zhang's patient for about 2 or 3 years. She is meticulously detailed with her care. She has excellent diagnostic skills. If you want someone who will breeze through your visit quickly and casually she may not be who you should choose. However, if you want someone who will persist in finding the correct solution for you then go to her - but understand that any physician, particularly a cardiologist, need accurate input and follow-thru from the patient. It is in your best interest to put the effort into getting the best care. You will be rewarded for it with a longer life.

To date, I have been seeing Dr. Zhang who has diagnosed a heart condition that was missed by other doctors even though I described the exact symptoms to them. My complaint is not with her, but with the Pennmed computer from which you can not access test results. She is a dedicated physician and I do not get the "bums rush" from her. I recommend her highly!

She is meticulous in her detailed approach to understanding and dealing with exactly what the patient's cardiovascular problems are.

She is a wonderful, caring doctor. Extremely knowledgeable.

In all of my appointments with Dr. Zhang, she has been very difficult to understand, and has had barely passable bedside manner. I was sticking with her because she seemed to be honestly trying to help me, but now I will never go back to her. After going to her for about 7 months, and having numerous tests performed by her, she decided at my last appointment that my medical problem is caused by depression and basically that it is all in my head. Because she was unable to find a cause, she has given up, and literally laughed at the idea that there might be a physical cause to my problem. I am under the care of a psychiatrist for ADHD, who I have discussed my medical problem with extensively. He does not believe that it is all in my head, he does not believe that I am depressed. In fact, he was the one who suggested I see a cardiologist for this issue! At this appointment, Dr. Zhang started ranting at me about issues in my life that she has never discussed with me (my diet, my… level of social interaction, etc), and has no knowledge of, and I could barely get a word in edgewise. I strongly suggest that you stay away from Dr. Zhang.
