I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept of 2025. I also have a neurological disorder called neurofibromatosis. When I met with Dr McDermott, she was knowledgeable about my NF disorder as well as my breast cancer. She is tremendously kind, caring and compassionate, and put my mind at ease regarding my cancer diagnosis. She walked me through all the steps that would follow, including my surgery. Her staff was also very kind and compassionate...office staff, medical staff and surgical staff. I have recommended Dr McDermott to others, including my sister, who was recently diagnosed and treated for breast cancer by Dr McDermott, and I will continue to do so. We love her!

I had one appointment with Dr. McDermott and that was all I needed. She hadn't seen my records or images prior to coming into the room. Abrupt and was all over the place with regard to what my possible treatment might be. The staff was incredibly unorganized, had me fill out paper forms in the office (no online option), and the door was propped open with the door lock. My husband shared the same frustration and when we met the team of surgeons at Memorial Sloan, we couldn't have been more grateful. McDermott had me on the conveyor belt for cancer care. One of the worst doctor visits I have had in my life. I have reported this also to St. Barnabas as well.

abrupt, doesn't listen and interupts. insisted on new mammogram rather than use recent one from another facility. was not at follow up visit which was conducted by physican asst.

I love Dr. McDermott, she made my breast cancer so easy to deal with. I had my final visit today, and it was bittersweet, but if I need a doctor again I will go to Dr. McDermott.

I write with complete candor...ignore the negative comments...disgruntled persons always see the glass half empty!.....Dr McDermott is outstanding: a) competency and experience as a surgeon, b) engaging and friendly personality, c) pre-op preparation is thorough; every question (no matter how insignificant it seems) answered completely and patiently, d) her knowledge, skill and attitude will put any patient at ease and instill confidence and courage, e) fear and trepidation will be addressed; just tell her and she will allay your anxiety...Perhaps we expect our surgeons to be more than human, but let's remember that they are not supernatural and cannot wave a magic wand and have it all disappear, but you can be sure that she has the requisite surgeon's skill and confidence to perform as anyone in the top tier of the profession no matter where they are in practice. Dr Santoro's group is distinguished in the field. Dr Santoro built the best practice (Breast Center) anyone could find no… matter how far and wide the search. She is the distinguished founder and I thank her for taking on the surgeons in the group.

Had surgery 1 year ago for cancerous tumor in right breast. Spared me of a biopsy as she was sure it was cancer and very small. My oncologist agreed. She was right. Cancer was removed and she did a very nice job stitching my incision. Needed no Radiation or Chemo. Very glad I chose dr Mc Dermott. Breasts are her specialty. She is caring and answers your questions. I highly recommend her.

When no one wanted to see me with a cancer diagnostic she asked me to come and the way she treated was excellent.

I've been to Dr. McDermott for 2 different breast events over the past 10 years. She is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and respectful. I'm extremely satisfied with the care she provides.

Absolutely amazing doc. Treated me for breast cancer at 26 years of age and saved my life.
