Dr. Janice Jean Algea, MD

I have two elementary age boys. I finally decided to switch their pediatrician to Dr. Algea after two years with their previous doctor in Tipton County. I have learned more about my children and their health in the last two months than what I had learned during our time with their former pediatrician. My oldest has migraines and my youngest child has had some respiratory issues over the last few years. Doctors Janice and David (son) Algea and their staff are kind, helpful and knowledgeable in children's medicine. Today I met their nurse practitioner Dena and she is just as kind and wise as they are. They also have an assistant who is very patient and helpful. I forget her name, but she keeps at it even with a leg injury. Their office staff is professional and polite and are courteous on the phone, as well as in person. We are a family with little support outside of our household. It's great to have such a reliable group of people to help us raise our children in the best of health.

We have yet to be out of there within two hours of our appointment time. I understand if they are squeezing us in, but these are on routine appointments, which is the only time we see Dr. Algea, otherwise, we have to see Dena (who we like, but it is still irritating that we can't ever get in to see our PCM when our child is sick). Also, the office really needs a makeover. The exam rooms are not kid friendly. Being stuck in those for usually close to an hour with a screaming child (after waiting 30+ minutes to get called back) is horrible! I miss our old pediatrician (we moved).
