Dr. Janis Duski attended The University of Detroit for her undergraduate training and was accepted in The University of Michigan Dental School after only 3 years. There she served as President of her dental class and was the recipient of the Delta Dental Fund student leadership award upon graduation.
As with her husband, Janis entered the US Air Force as an officer and completed a one-year residency in advanced general dentistry. This postgraduate work allowed for additional training in the dental specialties, with emphasis on oral and periodontal surgery.
Born and raised in the downriver Detroit area, Dr. Duski has been a Gaylord resident since l992. In her years in private practice, she has been committed to advancing her skills in the areas of cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry, including minor periodontal surgical procedures. She has received over 500 hours of continuing credit since graduation and has spent the last years participating in the continuum for …the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Study and is an alumni of the Dawson Academy. She has been asked to be part of the panel of the PBS show "Ask the Dentist" on several occasions.
Dr. Duski is also a certified Invisalign provider, and holds the distinction of being the only Premier Invisalign Provider in Northern Michigan. 
She holds membership in the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Vacationland District Dental Society.  She was elected in 2010 as part of the Alumni Board of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, a position she will hold for three years. 
In her leisure time she enjoys snowboarding, traveling, wakeboarding, and especially spending time with her daughter and son.
