Dr. Janna Y Banks

With over 10 years of experience as a registered dietitian and 5 years as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Janna Y. Banks is dedicated to empowering individuals with diabetes to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. She has experience working with both pediatric and adult populations and specializes in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as prediabetes. Janna also has a strong clinical focus on the use of diabetes technology, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, and is a certified pump trainer, helping patients navigate these tools to enhance their self-management.Janna earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a Master of Science in Nutrition Education from Columbia University's Teachers College. Her clinical approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based strategies, all of which foster trust and encourage patient engagement.
