He is one of the few eye doctors in the Houston area who did not graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry but graduated from the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry.Dr. Chappel did his externships at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, Wichita VA, and Aprima in Nashville, with a focus on ocular disease and fitting Specialty Contact lenses like Scleral Contact Lens on Keratoconus patients, and on healthy corneas. Now he values educating his patients and wants them to leave more informed about their eyes than when they came in. Dr. Chappel was raised doing construction his whole life. Now he does carpentry on the side as a hobby. He built all the shelves for the eyewear at the office. He always has movie and tv recommendations. He moved down to Houston to escape the …bitter cold weather of Kansas and be close to his sister who is also in Houston/Katy.
